So while I was pushing some furniture around, I’ve found some reviews hidden behind one of them. Suspiciously they only mention CC and his “capabilities”. Oops…said “THAT PART of the fandom” aka a shipper who has not yet been abducted by aliens…
Let’s get the worst out of the way: tonight’s opener. It drops one of the dullest resolutions to a cliffhanger, that 2016 episode that climaxed with Scully rushing to save Mulder’s life with stem cells from their child and interrupted by the arrival of an alien ship…
…and the three by series creator Chris Carter, were creative disasters:… The finale was so dire, it seemed that the only way to justify an additional season — other than the nostalgic murmuring in the hearts of every mythology expert and Mulder/Scully ‘shipper — would be if Carter was willing to step back and let someone else take control of his creation…
It’s the only one of the five episodes Carter directed — Carter wrote the third episode, but Kevin Hooks helmed — and it’s the worst of the five episodes by a wide margin.
To be clear, the 2018 conspiracy storyline is still full of nonsense, nonsense that will tax even longtime X-Files fans who know their virus-carrying bees from their green-bleeding alien bounty hunters.
Given how awful all the new mythology episodes are, the series would be better off abandoning that altogether, but this season at least feels more of a piece,
Carter has once again written and directed the season opener, “My Struggle III” (numerically following Season 10’s opening and closing episodes), and as before it is surprisingly awkward. His dialogue is prosaic and ponderous by turns, expository and speechifying rather than conversational…
What’s left behind is subpar storytelling with none of the show’s original charm; if Fox hadn’t supplied additional episodes to critics a few weeks ago, we’d be very, very worried about what Season 11 has in store.
(I’ve often likened his mind to a blender that purees current headlines, fringe theories and of-the-moment ephemera into a goopy, delectable mush.)
We are days away from the finale and I am already in ‘I hate you CC’ mood…but you know, really, I’m just lowering my expectations to be surprised and amazed!
And here we are, shouting the misogyny word again! Gillian’s picture was taken by an artist professional photographer to serve a particular purpose.
I’m not very interested in commenting about West’s Instagram content but I think you’re all forgetting that West’s a teenager. She posted a picture with too much nude flesh on it, she was expecting fire and drooling emojis and she only got hate involving her dad. She removed the pic and now is trying to make it look like a political act, which it wasn’t.
It was just a half nude pic like all the ones she posts for years. They made me uncomfortable when she was 16. They still make me uncomfortable now that she’s 18. And it has nothing to do with feminism or misogyny.
I have a lot of thoughts about West’s Instagram content that I’m going to keep to myself, because obviously, I’ve never been an 18 years old girl looking as pretty as she looks in the social media era. I follow her since she’s 16, I think, and I feel like I’ve already seen too much of her body, but I guess that’s my problem, not hers. I could as well unfollow her… As for David liking it, I think he doesn’t do his own social media, it’s even fairly possible that West has an access to his account and that she made his like this picture. To be honest, whoever did it, it was a bad move. There are plenty of pics West posts that David, or whomever runs his account, could like and never does, but this one was the worst choice.
Anyway, she deleted the picture, so it’s not even a debate anymore, right?
I just wTXFa say I haven’t watched that many episodes of TXF, but I’ve watched a couple from this season and I watch reruns of the older seasons and I don’t understand why they now do episodes like the creepy clown thing from that little kid’s show or the very gory episode from tonight. I like the episodes about aliens and the extraterrestrial you know. Maybe the writers are getting bored with the show but they still agreed with Fox to do 2 more seasons. It confuses me. The past seasons are SO much better and not as horrifying as especially season 11.

I’m going to disagree, the past two episodes were pure XF to me. The show is not only about Aliens, it’s about paranormal phenomenons, including aliens but not only. There are a lot of stand alone in the original series about monsters and human-monsters that are great episodes and has nothing to do with aliens. The Alien ones are mostly for the mythology of the series. I guess these are the ones you’ve watched 🙂
