I see the disappointment floating around but I feel like it has to do with where were your expectations. Considering everything that happened and where we came from, I personally think it was a good panel. There was teasing, banters, weird jokes and chemistry, and even if it’s not what it used to be, I take it regardless. It was still way better than any panel they’ve done with Mitch and WBD last year and considering the new developments of Gillovny, it was pretty good.
David: No, you’re right. That is creepy.
Gillian: [laughs] Do you even know what I’m talking about?
David: What?
Gillian: [laughing] Do you know what I’m referring to?
David: In which?
Gillian: Let’s move on.
David: Wait.
Gillian: The serial killer bathing the dead women. And cleaning them.
David: ……
David: In the X Files?
Gillian: In the X files. Yeah okay.
David: I’m with you.
Gillian: [giggles] He’s so weird.
Headcanon: When Gillian was quoted saying she doesn’t know much about David, he called her up and teased her mercilessly and now they continue to poke fun at it every chance they get.
Also the fact that David purposefully addressed the question about how him and Gillian are similar to Mulder and Scully as personal and that he didn’t want to answer that further PROVES that we as a fandom can only speculate but that there’s definitely a relationship of sorts being had between them since he wants to keep it private.
He could have easily answered that with, “we were work partners, we had each other’s backs, respect….blah, blah, blah”. But he did not.🤔 Maybe they are more like 2016-2018 Mulder than I previously thought. Hmmmmm….
