Since I’ve gotten a few questions about this, I’ll answer them all here.  What I did was go to the “contact us” page for the Montreal Comiccon, then chose the “tickets-general” selection from the drop-down menu when I filled out my name/email/etc.  Someone got back to me and told me they’d send the request to the ticket people, and then a bit later, a refund was issued w/o further communication.

I basically just said that Gillian was the only reason I’d bought tickets, and since there’s still plenty of time before the con, surely they’ll be able to resell the ticket (I had VIP, and there’s only a limited amount of those, which usually sell out anyway).  I have no idea when they’ll decide not to be generous about this, since it was stated that refunds are not available, but it’s worth a try!
