JHH just so you know it looks like that two part question came from a blog called nolongerjustaudience. That blog is the same as mulderdanathisissxf. They say exactly the same thing and the second one was created today. You can see that earlier today nolongerjustaudience was commenting the same thing she wrote in her ask over on Funtasteec’s blog. She also did the same with youokay-mulder last week and others. She shows up in notes and says the same thing to anyone who believed/es in Gillovny.

Thank you for telling me, anon. I don’t know if they’re the same person, but this second blog you mentioned is blocked now. Thanks to you, I saw their reblog on my post that was way over what I find acceptable, so they’re blocked. Trolls will always be troll here, sadly… But it’s always funny that these trolls always accuse regular bloggers and especially shippers to have no life or empty life  or whatever, while they’re literally creating fake accounts to spend their day going from blogs to blogs just to spread hatred. I will never get it…

OK, I’m gonna try not to make this too sappy, and to be clear, this isn’t meant as Intimations of Gillovny (except perhaps in the broader usage of the term, meaning David and Gillian and their partnership through the years in all its forms).

Apparently, David and Gillian’s Walk of Fame stars are interleaved on the sidewalk with those of George Burns and Gracie Allen. George and Gracie were a husband-and-wife comedy team from the vaudeville days through the early years of television. They met doing comedy, in 1922, and married a few years later. They were together until Gracie died from heart problems in 1964. (George Burns later had a career renaissance and became re-famous as an Old Guy Comedian – he passed away in 1996 at the age of 100.)

Some more facts about George and Gracie (most of which I just learned from Wikipedia; roast me, Tad):

  • Originally Gracie mostly did the setup and George the punchlines, but Gracie was funnier, so they switched early on so George was the straight man and Gracie delivered the jokes.
  • Gracie’s comedy persona was that of a ditzy airhead, though she was of course in actuality doing most of the weight-pulling in their comedy.
  • Their act started out being flirty, and then (well into their actual marriage) they decided they were too old for that and switched to old-married-couple jokes, which fit them better.
  • When Gracie decided to retire from their TV show (largely for health reasons), George stayed on but it only lasted one more season because it didn’t work without both of them.
  • Their marriage wasn’t perfect: one night, George cheated on Gracie. Feeling guilty, he bought her a fancy table centerpiece and a ring. Then they proceeded to never really talk about it, but years later Gracie joked that she wished George would cheat on her again because she could use a new table centerpiece.
  • In his 90s, George wrote the book Gracie: A Love Story, a loving and (of course) humorous look back at their lives together.

So David and Gillian are seated, cocktail-party-style, with George and Gracie on that Hollywood sidewalk. On the other side is, apparently, Boris Karloff. Gillian and David, George and Gracie, and a scary monster (but just a pretend one). Seems to me like a fitting tribute.

Thanks to @adieangel for the original intel on this and also for the subsequent research help as I tried to fact-check. MAN, is it hard to nail down the precise locations of people’s stars. (Boris Karloff has two! Did not know that.)

One more disclaimer: This is not me hinting that David and Gillian are secretly doing it. They have their own separate lives and I wish them both joy and fulfillment in whatever they choose to do from here on out. And yet, to paraphrase the sappy curmudgeon member of this partnership, they are soulmates, in some senses; joined, at some significant level, in the public’s mind as well as their own, forever.

Oh my god leave it up to @justholdinghandsok to make it this big 😂😂 Gillian said that she has a friend in New York and whenever she stays with him he does a few of these meditation things with her and buys her flowers that stand by the bed, hangs fresh towels and does all the things that bring tears to her eyes. Needless to say my heart stopped and I wasn’t the only one.

so, after what was said today, person, who was called out, though not for lying which is pity, lied. Someone who wasn’t in fandom lately asked her about things and she said « their flying from the U.K. to attend to the Golden Globes together last month. Lots of pics of them together before, during and after the event. »

I went to check the full post and I can’t even voice how many things in it are incorrect.  I don’t even know where to start with addressing it except to say that this wasn’t some one-off where Gillian suddenly appeared on the arm of a man. She arrived alone and walked the red carpet alone.  In Hollywood, regardless of your personal opinion, that says something.  It says, the person came alone. But just as importantly, Gillian attends Golden Globes after-parties regularly.  The last few years have shown us that.  She’s attended the GGs before, as well.  So for someone to say they flew from the UK together (which is a ridiculous conclusion to come and not factual) to attend the GGs is ridiculous.  It can almost be guaranteed that Gillian was going to be there anyway, based on the last few years.

“Lots of pics” is such an exaggeration that I can’t even put into words how what I think about that.  There was a very brief video of them separately on the red carpet, then PM falling into line beside her.  There was video of The Crown table when they won their award.  There was video of Gillian leaving with PM to attend the after-party.  As for pictures, there were many of Gillian solo, and a few (I think there were four, to be specific) of them at the after-party.  Pictures which showed nothing even remotely romantic, no heart eyes, and nothing but a combination of detached coldness and professional interaction.  PM gave his phone and his award more attention than the woman who was supposedly his date (and, according to plenty of people, the future stepmother of his children and future wife).

Also, for a group of bloggers who repeatedly talk about how everyone should be careful with their words, I found the wording the OP used in that anon answer to be intentionally misleading.  That’s only my perception, but to me it read that there were a bunch of photos of Gillian and PM taken upon arriving, during and after the GGs and that they were all of them together.  For people who aren’t inclined to do their own research, that would send the wrong message and intentionally colours the narrative in their favour.  Sure, it’s their blog and they’re entitled to say what they want.  But since they complain about every narrative from the Gillovny side that you can imagine, I don’t think it’s too much to expect that a simple sentence that should be accurate and descriptive be presented as such.

What the OP said was intentionally misleading – and yes, in other words, a lie. There’s a way to communicate information without insidiously directing readers to agree with you in an attempt to shore up more support.  But the times that I’ve made the mistake of looking at their posts, I realize that expecting that is expecting far too much.

Keep to your standards, because judging from your ask, they’re obviously in the right place.

I should call out this person for lying too. She likes saying that Gillian and PM were together at several events… 🙄🤔
