Do you think David and Gillian will be at any conventions or events where we can meet them this year? I can’t find any scheduled events yet, maybe because they are filming a lot for the XFiles this year? I love how a lot of bloggers got to meet them and I am trying to make my opportunity!

It’s probably too early to say, but I guess if they don’t do some this year, they’ll probably do next year before season 11 starts to air.
Keep an eye on the New York Comic Con, though. It’s in October, maybe they’ll manage something with their filming schedule.

Okay here we go again with that picture of David. First, it’s from that blog that gets pics from that FB account where the pics have no date, no watermark, and no proof of anything. We know David is in LA, sure. But was it so COLD yesterday that he needed two shirts? One long-sleeved?! It’s fucking California. And also, no sling? He had it on in NY just last week and now it’s gone? Doesn’t ANYONE think this pic and the shady source it comes from is WEIRD? Why do we keep reblogging from them?!

I think we all know now that the date they put in the captions are the dates the pictures were released by the paps, and not the date when they were taken. It makes a huge difference, so he could or could not be in LA right now. It doesn’t bother me.

I reblog them because he’s hot. And I love him. And it feels good to have him between two posts of this stupid PM picture.

I didn’t see other years announcements – but didn’t Davids band say the « first leg » of the tour would be announced on Monday. From that I am assuming that Australia is the big announcement – but there may be some other US/Europe dates announced later? I know he’ll be out of action for months filming but it really sounded like more than one announcement would be made…?

Yes, that’s what they said. I think the game is between Europe or South America, and I tend to think the second leg will be South America…

Regarding the price of the meet and greet, I don’t remember seeing a meet and greet that wasn’t expensive. I feel like it’s like this with every singer and I don’t really get it. It’s too much money. I’m glad people were satisfied with their time with DD, though.

It is, indeed very expensive, but on the other hand, if you compare that with a package for a comic con, for example, where you have to pay up to 700$ for basically the same thing, in a very less intimate context where people are rushing you and you only have a few seconds with them, meets and greet at concerts are a better deal.

How can a person not be Gillovny after simply googling « Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny photo shoots? » I’m just saying that promotional shoots for the x files have always felt, I’m not sure, more intimate, I think, than any other promotional pictures I’ve seen for other TV shows. I’ve never seen costars shoot like that. Looking at the GA/DD photoshoots over the years feels like I’m intruding on something personal and private. There’s something there. I’m so ready for more.

It’s even more true with the latest ones. The one they did at the TCA, especially after seeing the little bts video of it where you can see them take a picture for themselves on Gillian’s phone (who does that during a photoshoot?!) and her keeping her hand inside his jacket while no one is shooting them… And no need to mention the Mark Mann photoshoot. I’d kill to see a video of this one!

dd is charging $200+ dollars for meet & greets at his aussie concerts. the man is earning more from photo ops than he is from selling concert tickets. it’s a bit extortionate don’t you think? not to mention exploitative. i mean, why charge so much for meeting fans when the tickets to hear his music are $20-30.

It is quite expensive, I agree. It was pretty much the same in Europe, and I think it was even more expensive in the US. But it’s worth it, if you can afford it. Meet and greets with David are a great experience, he’s really nice and genuine, he’ll sign everything you want and you get to smell him, which is important.
I’m not quite sure he’s responsible for the price of his tickets, though. I’d rather blame Brad for that.
