It sucks that we can’t go to GA’s tag without seeing PM.. anyone else feel the same? I used to get so excited when anything related to GA would pop up, now I don’t want to even look. Is that bad? I guess I am a bad fan or maybe no longer a fan?

You’re not a bad fan, anon. I guess it sucks, but the truth is I never use the tags on Tumblr. I just scroll my dash and answer asks, but I basically never go though Gillian or David or even Gillovny tags, so I don’t know what it looks like. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I am wondering, how many people who are now celebrating and cheering over Gillian’s post about the lack of female writers in The X-Files, not so long ago also wrote why “All Things” is not so great, and how they dislike it? How they never said one positive thing about “Aubrey” which was written also by a woman. Or did they ever acknowledge another woman and her ep “John Doe” which she directed? And did they ever say a word about Kim Newton, a newbie at that time, who wrote “Quagmire” and not praised Darin who was only her assistant? Where their “feminist” was then? And finally, did any of them suggested a female writer for s11 instead of shouting out their support for other male writers as Frank, Vince or David? Where this hypocrisy ends? 

And Gillian had three fucking years to talk about it! She has never before brought up this subject! So why now when the list is already completed? (of course, I know why but go figure it out by yourself).

And does it really that matter if a person with a vagina and not penis will make an episode? Because I thought that the most important should be the quality but also professionalism and ability of the people who are working on the show! The X-Files was created by men and so what? I still fucking love it! This show was and still is my life! I grew up watching it. It made me a person I am today, thanks to those men! There were 208 episodes and not everyone was great but again, so what? I still wouldn’t change a thing because they’ve created the best TV show and iconic characters ever in the TV history! And I am looking forward to season 11 and I believe it will not disappoint!

Also, feminism isn’t about giving women everything only because they have vaginas! Feminism is about equality! Being a woman shouldn’t give you the right to be pushed ahead for doing nothing, to be considered a God and perfection whose no one dares to criticise (yes, I am looking at you who calls others misogynists only because they dared to say a negative thing about another woman)! I want to be respected because of my hard and good work and not because I have a vagina!

I am done with the hate towards X-Files and its creators! And I am also done with the hate towards David. Leave him out of it!

I get all of you are upset but to slam Gillian now for speaking up about the ridiculous male vs female writers and directors on xfiles which is more than off is just not ok. If someone like Gillian who is in a power position who has many eyes and ears aimed at her shouldn’t speak up who should because the bts running of the xfiles is just disgusting. It’s not even about men being better writers and directors it’s that they get hired based on the fact women are considered to do a shit job.

Oh but I find the fight totally legit. What I dislike is that she did sign for another season of The X-Files. No one forced her. She knew exactly what it would be like, she knows Chris, she knows all the writers, she worships them all, usually.
She has played many many roles since the original series ended, pretty much all written by men. She has been plugging other shows (you know which one in particular), written by men. Never she complained about the lack of female writers in The Fall, or American Gods, or even Streetcar. So why now? Why picking XF when she’s about to start filming? She did a pretty bad job so far promoting this season and I’m scared it keeps going this way. I’m also pretty sure Chris would have let her write an episode if she wanted to, but it seems like the less she’s involved in it, the better, and it’s a bummer.
XF made who she is now, it made her famous, it made her an icon, she made a lot of money thanks to this show, and even if I don’t have a lot of feelings for Chris Carter, he is the one who pushed for her to be Scully. One of the first strong female character of all time. We owe him that, and so does she.
It just seems to me that she’s often unfair and ungrateful towards this show. So I get that it’s not as good as it could be, that the writing doesn’t give her as much material as she would, and that the subject itself don’t interest her much. It’s understandable. But still, I wish she would show a little bit more of enthusiasm for a show who has millions of fans and which will reward her with a few millions dollars.
This is a totally personal thing, but I always do have issues with people who publicly and loudly criticize what made them who they are now, as bad as those things are.

In other words, don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

And she looked so miserable around him. Those arms behind her back I still dream at night. So why was she behaving like that? I could understand then that they didn’t want to make it official but why she was so unhappy? So not herself? God and we all saw her with David for god’s sake! And maybe I am still angry at her but I feel really sorry for her that she is so blind if goes to men :/

I am not sorry for her because she is not forced into anything she makes her own choices and therefore has to live with them.
As she herself says she can do whatever the fuck she wants!
And I know I’ll get a lot of hater anons for what I say next but
That “I can do whatever the fuck I want” sentences is the biggest BS because you can’t that’s not how family, friendships, communities, workplaces etc function
If everybody does whatever they want we would live in a world of egocentric assholes.
You have responsibilities not just for your self but for your loved ones and therefore you can’t do whatever you want because all your actions affect the people around you. And if you are caring, kind and emphatic you will think about those around you before you go ahead and just to whatever pleases you…

I know it might be cool to just not give a fuck and just do things but that’s exactly why we live in such a fucked up competitive, selfish and egoistic society
