Another peek of Gillian Anderson as Media as Lucy.

Yup! There’s a good shot they attend the upfronts! It’s getting real!

Solange, Gillian Anderson, and Steve Buscemi are among the winners who will be giving short and sweet five word speeches at the ceremony this year.
The judging panel this year included Jimmy Kimmel, Making a Murderer’s Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, TED Radio Hour HostGuy Raz, Instagram’s Eva Chen, Questlove, Internet inventor Vint Cerf, Reddit Co-Founder Alexis Ohanian, and Black Lives Matter Co-Founder Opal Tometi.
The Women’s March, Solange, and the dictionary are now Webby Awards winners
4. MEDIA
As the mouthpiece for the new gods, Media makes her play for Shadow very quickly. She is the ultimate personification of television, worshipped by the millions of Americans who cannot go a day without sitting down in front of the box to indulge. Clearly, she’s one of the more powerful gods involved in the story.
Offering Shadow a place to work away from Mr. Wednesday and alongside the new gods, Media does her best to poach the story’s protagonist, taking on a variety of characters from the small screen such as Lucy Ricardo from I Love Lucy and Diane from Cheers while doing so.
Gillian Anderson will be seen stepping into the role in the Starz series, slated to be appearing in seven episodes, but as you can see from the image above, a lot of what will be involved in regards to her character is being kept under wraps. When it comes to the small screen adaptation of the American Gods story, it certainly looks like we’ll be delving deeper into the personification of each character than ever before. Media is one of those characters who could provide a wealth of exciting new material in the TV series.
Yes, but who doesn’t like a good reach from time to time (not me!). But I don’t think it’s a reach to assume she’s in the US, even in NY…
Yes, they filmed this winter, Gillian was spotted on the set back in February, and it’s going to be released this summer 🙂
Gillian doesn’t come back in The X-Files for the love of Alien abductions and stem cells stories. No one is doubting that. But there are many other motivations than only business and money. She said many times that what she enjoyed the most in season 10 was to work with the old crew and with David, so I think there’s that too. I also hope she managed to deal the directing or the writing or both of one episode at least. I think she also does it for us, because of the pressure, because if we don’t get a decent closure, there’s no way she was going to be left alone with that and “allowed” to move on.
I’m not saying she’s a total philanthropist, no one is in this business, of course money matters, and for now, she can’t get as much money as what she makes with xf with any other show. But money isn’t everything.
First of all, she mentioned David as her partner in a radio interview a few days before this interview. Then, it was a written interview and if my memory serves me right, it was stated that her words have been rewritten to fit the interview. We have no way to know if she really said it, the way she said it, and what she exactly meant. Maybe she only mentioned the children and they added the “if I was single”, maybe she said it in a way like if I didn’t have children, maybe she indeed said it thinking about her partner, but at this point, it doesn’t have to mean that she’s with PM.
It’s been two month without seeing them together. I know Gillian hasn’t done any public appearance since her promotional tour in NY, but shouldn’t two people in love living in the same city be spotted at least once together? There has been many sightings of Gillian in London in the last two months, none of them mentioned PM.
It just seems less and less real to me 🙂
