Viceroy’s House Movie Review –

sunshinetoday:

Gillian Anderson, as Lady Mountbatten. I will be honest; I was incredibly sceptical about this particular casting. However I will be quite happy to eat my words and admit that Anderson is brilliant. She is simply spectacular in her role and encompasses the mannerisms and style of Lady Mountbatten so completely, you at times forget that you are watching Anderson and not Lady Mountbatten.

Viceroy’s House Movie Review –

Can I ask you something honestly? Is she had thanked DD or if she had talked about his music’s production without been asked wouldn’t you’ve taken it as a confirmation of them being together?

The comparison seem just impossible here. If she had acknowledged David, she would have known the consequences behind it. She can’t just drop David’s name on something not related to XF and expect people to not freak out. If he had helped her with the book, it would have been known beforehand, she would have added a few words to explain as to what he was acknowledged for.
I’m sorry but since the beginning of this rumor, I keep getting asks comparing David and Peter Morgan, and I keep reading things like “if it was David, they would take it as a confirmation blah blah blah”. But actually, it’s just impossible for me to wrap my mind on this comparison. Her relationship with Peter Morgan, whatever it is, will never be something to be compared to the one she has with David, either privately nor publicly. I don’t know how anyone being in this fandom and knowing Gillian and David can expect us to have the same reaction towards what she does with David and what she does with anyone else.

Do you think they’ll be a statement from her people soon? Or do you think she’ll slip what she needs to say about PM into an interview? I feel played and if I’m honest, hurt. I know I shouldn’t because it’s not my life and she is free to do as she pleases, but I do feel she has used and manipulated us this whole time.

I know the feeling, anon. I used to feel that way when the Golden Globes hit, and it’s normal. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re bad for feeling this way. But I’m over it now, and so you will. I don’t expect a statement, I think one sentence in an interview should do the trick to deny the rumor properly, or a real joined appearance to an event should be enough to confirm it. I still don’t believe they’re a thing, and at this point, no one can make me change my mind except Gillian herself.
Wait and see…

The thank you thing is true and I feel like I’ve been punched in the gut

Okay, guys, here are some facts.  The book is available on a Kindle preview, so if any of you can access it, you can see it for yourselves.  I’d rather not post a screenshot because of Gillian’s request.

PM’s name appears in a larger group of people.  It’s all alphabetical.

It’’s not in the “grateful thanks” section.

It’s not in a section called “My personal thanks”.

Both Gillian’s and Jennifer’s thanks are grouped together.

While Gillian’s children appear, her mother and sister do not.  One would assume those closest to her would have a mention, right?  (That’s something I expected.)

Please don’t freak out until we know more.  If it were David in the pack, you know people would be yelling that it means nothing and he’s a friend included in a mass of people.

So we should continue to look at this logically.  If it turns out to be something, fine. If it doesn’t, at least we’ll have approached it sensibly.

Well, I think this is the moment for her PR to react. I don’t know what is going on here but Twitter freaking out completely. And there are again, hate on Gillian and Peter Morgan. People who don’t understand what acknowledgment in the book means are questioning Gillian, her true intentions, her feminism and cannot understand why for example she’s mentioned him and not her mother.

So yes, either PR should react or this will end badly for her. Someone from tabloid will finally pick up the story how feminist who wrote the feminist book included her boyfriend, a married man to this. A man who didn’t treat her with respect on GGs.

*sigh*

I wanted to make my own post, but everything is brilliantly said here. I don’t know since when a name acknowledged on a book is synonym of Love, but okay. This acknowledgement could be both personal or professional, seeing the mix of names in this paragraphs. Doctors, professors, marketing agencies, family, writers….
It’s not the “proof” that will make me change my mind on the status of their relationship, even if I agree with @altaircolin, it’s time for an explanation and a closure, in a way or another, because this book is released in a few days, and I’m sure this page is not the one Gillian wanted us to focus on.

Only time will tell, I just hope it won’t be too long.

Hi, have you read David’s or Gillian’s books?

I’ve read David’s books, and I recommend the both of them. David is a brilliant writer!

I haven’t read Gillian’s books. I will read “We”, but I’d love to write something she writes on her own so I would be sure to read a book from Gillian Anderson. I think she put more of herself in We than in The Earth Saga, but I wish she would feel confident enough to throw herself in something really personal, novel or something else.

that ominous German article some people are fering to

*sigh* I knew some people would freak out about this. This is the article. Some points to consider. since the author is a freelance journalist, the same article appeared in different regional  newspaper owned by the same group.

  • the article states that GA spoke to the paper, yet some of the quotes are very similar which (the part that she didn’t knew much about Edwina before taking the role) in this video interview. It’s possible, though the interview were done in a round table style, e.g. several journalists asked questions, she answered at the Berlinale or GA used the same answers. The author although states that he lives in Berlin and Seoul, so believe the part that he was there.
  • the article states she is living with a German in London-. As mentioned before, PM is not German. He may live in Austria (as well in other parts in the world), but no German newspaper would mix that up.People should keep in mind that her first husband, Clyde is a German expat with Canadian citizenship or a Canadian born to German parents.
  • The article calls her role in the X-Files “Detective Scully”. Anyone old enough to be alive in the 1990or able to use wikipedia and/or would know that it’s Agent Scully, not detective.
  • the article also states that when GA became pregnant, her role also became pregnant in the show – which is false and could have easily be fact checked on wikipedia.

So I don’t know how much trust one can put in a journalist who failed to some basic fact checking when writing an article.

that ominous German article some people are fering to

JHH, how likely do you think it is that GA shows up for that dinner honoring PM on the 21st? I’m worried she’ll show up at the premiere with him. I’m kinda thinking that either he’ll be there or that she’ll then attend the dinner after the premiere. 😩. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if she attends the premiere but not the dinner. What do you think?

I think she will definitely attend the premiere without him and I will be shocked if he shows up there. As I don’t think they’re dating, to me, he has no reason to go.
I’m still mixed on either she’s going to join his event after the premiere, but I think it’s likely not going to happen. And if she ever does, I don’t think she’ll do it as his date. I don’t expect to see anything more that we’ve already seen, which is basically nothing and not so many interactions between them.
To quote David, if I was a betting woman, I’d bet we’re not going to see them attend an event *together* before the BAFTA in May.

Hey there, Im from Germany and just read the newspaper today and found an article about Gillian where she gave an interview at the Berlinade. The words are. « the american actress Gillian Anderson, who is living together with a German in London. »Im a little bit confused now. That means no David but neither Peter Morgan! Did I miss somerhing?

I don’t know what kind of press you read, anon, but it’s either David nor Peter Morgan. None of them is German and Gillian isn’t living with anyone but her children in London.
