Men’s Journal Interview with Gillian Anderson February Issue

We know scrolling social media makes us feel bad, but we can’t stop doing it.

Everything out there is going to look better than where one is. I’m posting a picture on Instagram of me smiling on set on The X-Files, but that’s not an indication of anything. That doesn’t even mean I’m happy. Who knows what’s going on at home in London: how much I’m missing my children, whether one of them is sick, how powerless I feel in that, or what’s happening on set. None of it is an indication of anything real.

I think a lot of people feel that way about social media, but we assume that celebrities don’t, because your lives are awesome.

There are some very, very unhappy wealthy people out there.

You’ve been in the public eye for a long time, but what’s something most people still don’t know about you?

If I get nervous during interviews, it looks like I’m not enjoying myself, like I’m very serious and grumpy. And I am those things, but most of the time I’m also really silly, really goofy, and really clumsy. I’m not one or two things—I’m 25 things.

I saw this tweet on Saturday. At that time she had a tweet in her history from Monday or Tuesday about G getting her star. Now it’s gone. Why? I’m still the queen of denial land. It struck me as odd that she would suddenly tweet about a celebrity in the middle of all the political stuff and then actually see the celebrity in person and choose not to say anything. I’m calling foul til I see the pics. hopefully they’ll have their clothes on.

Yep, it’s weird. I was believing her without a doubt before that. I guess if Gillian is indeed in Mexico now, we will now it. Either she’ll be spotted again or she’ll resurface later in London tanned like a tiny roasted chicken. 🤷🏽‍♀️🍗🍗

JHH why do people think Gillian is using David to sell her stuff on Ebay if the old icon was them together? And how does it help with sales? For God’s sake, not all XF fans care about their personal lives or about gillovny, I do not think anyone will buy just because her icon is the two of them together. I actually found this cute but some people do not know how to enjoy little things in this fandom anymore.

I don’t know, that’s not how I felt. She changed a Gillovny icon for another, more recent, Gillovny icon.
I guess it’s because since they wrapped, Gillian and David became kinda estranged, but let’s remember that 3 weeks ago, Gillian was still posting Gillovny content on Instagram and Twitter. So I don’t know what happened between them and if something happened at all, but she didn’t change the way she’s “using” Gillovny on social media.
And I agree, the pic is really cute!

Do you know why there are obviously more people denying G is with PM than believing it while on the other side there are obviously more people believing D is with MP than denying it? G looks sad while posing with PM, D looks bored on fanpics with MP, it’s said “Portofino looks staged” as well as “M called the paps to the gym”. Many people seem to doubt a “sighting” with PM in Mexico, if there would be a “sighting” of D with MP in NYC, there wouldn’t be any doubts. Where is the difference ?

I’m not sure it’s true, though. There is no proof at all that David is with Monique, and btw, she’s completely out of the frame since they wrapped so I’m not sure people are still talking about her.
We’ve just gone through a PM week without any pda, except the small hand holding on the Globes red carpet. So I guess those who were in denial before that, still are. It’s not my case but I understand that Gillian didn’t give them any reason to change their mind during this week.
