Purely speculative. Do u think dd is watching American Gods? Or at least Gillian’s scenes. I’m curious, much more than I was about The Fall. She takes on such challenging roles & shows so much range in AG. The idea of David gawking at Gillian’s talent & sitting there being awed by her makes me personally happy. I imagine him being emotional & nostalgic. Like « Look at that girl. That girl that came Crying into my arms in the beginning of the x files bc she thought she was going to be fired. » 😭

I’m sure he does, or at least, he will. He said she was very very very good in The Fall. I wonder what kind of superlative he’ll find for her performance in American Gods!

You seem to know where everything Gillovny lives on the internet ;) is there a page that keeps track of all the tweets between our OTP? I want to read them all and torture myself. Thanks a mill!

So I’ve found one master post starting from when David found out Gillian was on Twitter and the last update was in October 2015, it seems. For more recent tweets, just scroll down this page, I think they’re basically all there. Have fun with this sweet torture!

I was the one who sent the anon asking what you thought of the timeline of David and Gillian. I guess I should have made it clearer that when I meant my h/c is they patched things up during IWTB filming, I meant their friendship and whatever the problem was. I didn’t want to say they had an affair. But let’s be real. Gillian wasn’t having sex every free minute of every day and Mark didn’t seem into it anyway. 😆 She and David had lots of time to sit and talk and make things right (I think).

Oh! That makes more sense, and I agree with you, then. I think the new development of their friendship really started during the filming of this movie, but the romance started a few years later. 

How can a person not be Gillovny after simply googling « Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny photo shoots? » I’m just saying that promotional shoots for the x files have always felt, I’m not sure, more intimate, I think, than any other promotional pictures I’ve seen for other TV shows. I’ve never seen costars shoot like that. Looking at the GA/DD photoshoots over the years feels like I’m intruding on something personal and private. There’s something there. I’m so ready for more.

It’s even more true with the latest ones. The one they did at the TCA, especially after seeing the little bts video of it where you can see them take a picture for themselves on Gillian’s phone (who does that during a photoshoot?!) and her keeping her hand inside his jacket while no one is shooting them… And no need to mention the Mark Mann photoshoot. I’d kill to see a video of this one!

I’ve seen one person say that she thinks the tide shifted with David and Gillian after IBG 2010. I saw another say it wasn’t until 2013. I’m curious when YOU think it shifted. I know you always say without confirmation blah blah blah, but I’m interested in what you think. Personally my thought is that it happened during IWTB filming in 2007/8 because they had a lot of hours to sit and talk and make things better. If they had not done that, the premieres wouldn’t have been so fucking great! 😍

2007 / 2008 doesn’t work for me. David was in a really bad place in his marriage and life and Gillian was trying to have another baby with Mark. I know there’s a lot of Gillovny headcanons around the IWTB filming time, and I know they’re not two angels, but with Mark being on the set and Gillian trying to get pregnant, that just doesn’t work, in my opinion.

In 2012, David was separated from Tea and Gillian said she was separated from Mark “for some time”. IBG happened in the summer of 2011, so I think that’s when it started to happen again, and I think it got more serious around 2012 / 2013.

There’s a fun thing to do: Google their names using the 2012 period. There was a lot of rumors and sightings this year, New-York sightings, LA sightings, sets sightings, even if nothing was happening X-files-wise. I think it’s a lot to be only fake gossips and it shows that it may have been them trying to find their pace and being less cautious than they are now.

Also, I think they tried to come out in 2015, with The Cutting Room, and backtracked.
