I’m inclined to believe this woman. She posted on her own FB. She’s got 221 who follow her. She wasn’t trying to make a big splash. She just saw something and she commented on it. She’s obviously a fan of XF, and especially Mulder, but she doesn’t know every detail about DD or GA – she thought PM was GA’s husband – until she was corrected by a poster. In one comment she says (in German) that she thought GA was shockingly thin. And she said that PM seemed to be the “genius” (translated from German) at their table. Apparently she was at the table next to them. She says she did deliberately did not take a picture because it was an upscale restaurant and that would have been gauche and discourteous (my words). She obviously did see MP with DD. She didn’t know her by name, but she said she was a much younger woman. How did she know who was with whom? She doesn’t say, but perhaps she saw each of the couples come in and sit down at that table. Or perhaps their demeanor at the table was a clear indication. So, yes, I believe this was a genuine experience. And, no, I don’t think GA and DD set this up as some kind of elaborate way to throw people off their “secret” togetherness. I believe, as I’ve said before, that the simplest explanation is usually correct. In this case, the simplest explanation is that DD and GA wanted to touch base with each other while they were both in the same city, and they chose to meet in a public restaurant with their current “partners” (as NN put it in her FB post). I did not post anything on her wall, by the way. She was clearly annoyed that some strangers did post to ask her questions about her encounter.
Do I like that this foursome dinner happened? Well, I’m glad that GA and DD saw one another while both in London. I’m not happy that this seems to confirm that DD is dating MP and that GA is still dating PM. My own opinion is that these relationships are not healthy and are probably not likely to last.
I look forward to the appearance of DD and GA together in October.
