How was the london panel??

skullsmuldon:

I think if you saw him for the first time it was good. I think the person you are a fan off can hardly mess up because of your excitement and you are just in a happy to be there mood.

For me my reaction to the London panel was : meh…
it was not bad but it wasn’t great either. In my personal opinion he seemed off, a little reserved and kind of assuming that people were out to get him with their questions. Which was odd because no one asked questions he could get “in trouble” for. His body language to me was weird, his humor was a little off. To me he seemed stressed. But he still is a professional and knows how to act at those panels. The good thing was the panel was maybe 60% full so everyone had a good seat. The chairs were fucking uncomfortable and because the panel wasn’t in a separate room the noise from the people behind the partition walls was a little annoying.
So if I had to give him a grade it would be a C.

David Duchovny’s Panel

People have probably already posted what was said in the panel, but here are a few snippets that I liked (ignoring the fact the first question was about Gillian):

Schedule permitting he’s planning a European tour in February next year. They’ve mapped out where they want to go and it’ll be bigger this time.

He didn’t say someone else posted on social media for him. He says he tries not to do much social media because it scares him. He’s skeptical of it all.

He wakes up in the morning and thinks “What’s Trump done now?”

He didn’t want to talk about a hypothetical season 12. Good David, because neither do I.

One of the most nerve-wracking things he’s done is comedy, because there are elements of other shows he knows people will like, but if something isn’t funny people won’t watch. His potential next project could be the most nerve-wracking, but he didn’t say what that was.

He’s not a huge fan of sunflower seeds. “The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.”

Good advice for writers: “sit your ass down and write”

He’s trying to make a movie version of Bucky F**king Dent, had financing and lost it. Interested in making a series out of Miss Subways. He’s open directing other people’s work and like to open it up a bit more. Writing fiction has taken over his life for the past few years.

Weirdest ways someone’s ever pronounced his surname include Du-Anchovy and De-Scruff-Ny.

So if G is back in London why d’you think she decided not to do the comic con with DD? She’s not gonna be jet lagged flying from Italy so even if she didn’t wanna do Saturday she could’ve joined him on Sunday. It would’ve been a great opportunity for UK fans to meet them both for one last time.

Why do we assume she was in Italy?? Wasn’t she in Bournemouth? I’m lost.

Anyways, this is not how comic con works. She couldn’t decide to go to this or that comic con, she has to be invited for that. So maybe the London CC didn’t invite her, maybe they didn’t have the budget, maybe they had another reason. It’s not up to her, and if they did invite her and she declined, she probably had her reasons 🤷🏽‍♀️
