Ship names are always weird. I don’t know why people like Gilligan more than Gillorgan, you will have to ask them. Although, Gillorgan sounds more like a very scary creature from a Predator movie, and Gilligan sounds like someone wanted to call their son Callaghan but failed.

Unlike Gillovny, which sounds amazingly beautiful, it smells like sea and sugar and fruit, like a city in the south of Italy. When I told one of friend about Gillovny the first time, she immediately understood it was a ship name. She asked me who was the “Vny” dating Jennifer Lopez, but still. (True story)
