My words were not meant to insult your fandom or what you believe in. I understand the reason why it was such a big deal for you in the first place. We aren’t a big fandom but I have friends who were fans of Peter Morgan’s work regarding the British Monarchy for years and this isn’t what we ever wanted to see or get dragged into. It’s not your fault per se, the pictures of Portofino are their fault.

And it’s not only people from your fandom anymore saying that this was inappropriate. It’s one thing to do these things in private but no one can be dumb enough to think that there won’t be reprecussions for this kind of behaviour in public, especially at such a place and as a public figure. It’s unprofessional and leaves you with pictures and information you never wanted to have seen. Now it’s THAT guy who pulls knickers down and puts his mouth against a woman’s vagina in public. That’s sad.

Don’t worry, I didn’t take your message in a bad way at all. I was genuinely interested in having your point of view, and I guess we have a lot in common in this mess. Nor your fandom neither ours wanted to see that, and we both have to deal with it now. As you said, that’s sad.

Hey there, I’ve been lurking on your blog for quite some time now. I’m not in this fandom, but a part of the community that’s into The Crown. We’ve had a lot of contact with Gillian Anderson fans over the last couple of months, and I have to admit it took me a while to figure out that part of your fandom was attached to the idea of Gillian and David Duchovny being in a romantic relationship and that’s why The Crowns and Peter Morgan’s tags were flooded with theories and weird manips all of a (1)

sudden. Some of us genuinely thought that Gillian Anderson would be the next Queen based on her profile and her looks, and it was annoying that people kept accusing Peter Morgan for whatever, searched for compromising articles that made their way into our fandom and generally changed the tone even in our circles as the confusion even started there. 

There’s no ‘ship’ around Peter Morgan and therefore no emotional bonds – but I have to say the last couple of weeks, mainly because of what he’d said about Season 2 and these pictures from his vacation, which of course we all saw too, changed a lot in our community as well. With the pics came more info about his personal background, which made it all so much worse! We see the writer in a different light now, which was important even just ton say ‘son’. To me these vacation pictures changed a lot. I find them distasteful especially because what has been done in the public, and we curse the day we got mixed up with your fandom and Gillian Anderson. Esoecially with the satements regarding Season 2 and the weird changes that will come in it. Peter Morgan was highly regarded a couple of months ago. Now, not so much anymore, unfortunately. (End)

Since all this started, I’ve always wondered how The Crown’s fandom was dealing with it and what was their opinion on Gillian and on her relationship with him, so thank you for your insight. It’s very interesting. We curse the day we got mixed up with your fandom and Peter Morgan too, so that gives us a common point, such as not being very fond of his persona. Sorry for the disturbance! 🙂

Does she have to work on The Crown? I don’t understand. This rumor will not die, ppl who believe will still believe it. It’ll change absolutely nothing. And why Queen? Do you know it’s at least 6 months on the set? And she’ll spend about 5 on the xfiles set. I don’t believe she’ll make that long in her age (this isn’t insulting to her, only a fact) There was some kind of cross promotion and PR for PM but I can see it ends without having G on the Crown and I don’t want her there I’m sick of PM!!!

It’s only speculation. At this point, we can’t eliminate the possibility of seeing her in The Crown. I’d rather her not being involved in it and I’d rather not see PM again, but considering all of what happened in the last few months, it really is possible she’ll play in it. Maybe the Queen, maybe not, maybe nothing, we’ll see.

I’m a fan of The Crown but I don’t know much about when it starts filming next… however, I did find this on Wikipedia:

So now that s11 is CONFIRMED, i so hope that gillian is gonna do the crown after. Not that i care that much about the show but because it would hopefully end all the pm rumors for good and also would love to see gillian as the queen and in such a big and critically acclaimed show. Also if she was gonna shoot the crown after and would need darker hair then she could go red for s11 because it is way easier to go darker then lighter which was the problem last time because of the fall

I read somewhere they start filming season 3 in November, so I’d say it could fit with, because xf will probably end around November.

(anon submission) If Gillian goes to work at the crown then the most sensible fandom and those who have some kind of information because they know someone from the industry and said from the first moment that it was only PR had all the reason. So the PR agreements work, so Gillian started to write tweets about TC and went to the GG, it’s called publicity, and even, the rumor of page six could be agreed by the parties … he realized that that tabloid Did he never mention the alleged relationship between PM and GA? And does not it mean that Gillian has done something immoral to get that role, by God, so many years and do not know? Both TC and PM and GA benefit from PR. PM since 2008 had problems for certain statements so that somehow needed to clean his image, what better time than the airing of his series? Gillian with the support of many people for her book, including the renowned PM, and a role in the series, who does not like a good job? Is not selling, is just seize opportunities, and that is the bread of every day in the industry, everyone does it ok? All including David, including Tea, including Angelina Joliè, all. Excuse me, my language is not English.

gillian won’t get a part in the crown when she’s up against all those other actresses, and i doubt she’d do a leading role in a show that takes 9 months to shoot (per claire foy the other day at the radio times chat). gillian is too sculpted and fine-boned to play the queen anyway. i think either olivia colman or emily watson would suit the part.

Maybe! Or maybe she’ll take a smaller part. We’ll see. It won’t be officially announced before a few months anyway, so we’ll have to be patient and a lot can happen since it’s announced.

But personally, I totally can see her taking this part. It would be a big commitment, but it would be for two seasons maximum. They film in London and in Vienna, so it would allow her to stay with her family while working everyday for one of the biggest Netflix show.
Also, she’d admitted herself she wouldn’t mind receiving an Oscar, and seeing what’s happening to Claire Foy now, I think it could be a good tremplin for her to get bigger leading roles in Hollywood and finally get an Oscarable role.
But it’s just my opinion… 🙂

I think that GA’s appearance in « The Crow » is not a proof that she’s not dating PM…I’m not saying she is, but we also can’t say that she wouldn’t do that, because, frankly, we can’t be sure of anything about her. After all, she’s « doing whatever the fuck she wants ».

True. But If she will indeed get a part on this show, I think she may clarify the situation because if not, journalists will go there on every interview, and speculate and it could be bad for her image. Accusing her of getting work done on her face is something, and we know that it affected her enough to tweet about it. So I’m sure she doesn’t want any paper, even if it’s only the crappy ones, to accuse her of couch-casting. As fans, we will know it’s not like that, but you can’t help journalists to go there, we all know that.
