Female Directors Scorecard: Lionsgate’s 2018 Slate Has Three Set For Release

…Next is the Susanna Fogel-directed comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me which bows in theaters on August 3rd. The film is also a female-driven story about Audrey (Mila Kunis) and Morgan (Kate McKinnon) who are best friends that unwittingly become entangled in an international conspiracy when one of the women discovers the boyfriend who dumped her is actually a spy. Also starring is Justin Theroux, Sam Heughan, Gillian Anderson, Hasan Minhaj and Ivanna Sakhno. The film was also written by Fogel with David Iserson (Lionsgate’s Mad Men); it is co-produced by Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins.

Is Kev Adams on The Spy who Dumped Me? We don’t know much about this film yet, but it sounds like one of those productions which comes and goes unnoticed.

Yes, he’s in this movie. We didn’t have much new about it, I guess Gillian filmed her scenes already, but God knows where and when!

I’m not sure how to explain it. He’s a standupper (can you say that?) but like the annoying one French standupper no one after 15 years old can stand. He is to humor what Justin Bieber is to music, with less money, less tattoos, less style, and weirder hair. He’s like the eternal teenager you want to slap in the face. Oh, and he’s a bad actor. There are many French actors who would deserve to play with Gillian and Justing Theroux, and he’s not one of them.

the film gillian is shooting right now is at this moment filming in vienna (nice connection to pm there) and budapest. gillian just started following the writer/director, susanna fogel, on twitter and she followed back.

gillian probably cancelled her appearance in maine because she’ll be filming that kate mckinnon spy movie. she might not be on set straight away for season 11. when iwtb started filming, she joined 3 weeks into the shoot yet it didn’t affect the amount of screen time she had.

It’s different for a series than for a movie though. Usually, they shoot one episode a week. So if she misses the first three weeks, it means she won’t be in the first three episodes. Or barely.
It’s possible that she has filmed her scenes already for this movie. I don’t think her role is big, and she has kinda disappeared for a week or so. Maybe she was in Hungary in the beginning of July.

Not a single article even one month ago mentioned her role in the movie. Not even imdb. She was in option for role first time two weeks ago. I think 🤔

You work in production so I will ask you. Am I understanding this correct that because this Spy movie is already in filming in Hungary, that Gillian was a last minute addon? With maybe (you know) a favor asked of RH? Because Gillian sure looks like a role was created for her suddenly and she joined the cast very final?

Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon who are the lead actresses of this movie were announced back in March. Gillian was announced to be part of it at the same time as Justin Theroux, so I don’t think their roles were added last minute, that doesn’t seem possible to me. Things like that might be planned a few months in advance, at least. It’s possible she was cast not long ago, though. If I remember correctly, back in March, she said during an interview that she didn’t have any project at the moment, and would use some free time. So maybe she didn’t know at that time, or maybe she did and couldn’t talk about it, we will never know. But her role definitely hasn’t just been written for her.

I read it today: Gillian is coming to Budapest, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis is already here because of the spy movie. Im not in Hungary at the end July I hope she comes earlier :P Have you heard anything about it?
