Actors can absolutely put in their contracts/riders refusals to do publicity with their co-stars. One example of this was Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic on Castle. They were literally never interviewed together after the first few seasons. David and Gillian’s chemistry and behavior together are clearly a draw for both fans and media. It makes almost no sense that Fox has this mastermind game plan to separate them and not even have an interview together at Upfronts – which sells ad time. (1/2)

(2/3) Another thing I noticed after watching the Webby’s multiple times is that David never makes eye contact with her. She’s absolutely looking at him and smiling, but there’s an awkward moment when she gets to the podium and he offers to help her and she shakes her head no. It sort of felt like she was shutting down any real physical contact. They were standing together for less than a minute. How does that promote XF? One theory is that Gillian doesn’t want the fans to get caught up

(¾) in the Gillovny thing again. Maybe she doesn’t want the attention and the pressure from fans wanting something from her/them that they can’t or don’t want to give. Maybe she’s tired of keeping up with the Gillovny “game” (the tweets, etc) because she’s in a relationship or because she wants to be taken more seriously as an actor or because she’s just lost interest in the whole thing. She strikes me as someone who’s her own person and will do just the opposite of what people want.

(4/4) I’m 100% into Gillovny and love their chemistry and friendship and affection for one other. But something feels off to me, somehow. Like there’s a distance between them for the first time in many years. They don’t seem as…familiar as they used to be. At the concert it was so clear that he was used to touching her in an intimate way, the way a lover would. This latest interaction just seemed sort of stilted. More than anything I want them back the way they were. But I don’t know.

That was a very long ask to say a lot of false things! They were absolutely fine at the Webbys. I’ve read here and there people thinking they weren’t as touchy feely as they used to be. Well… it’s hard to touch someone who has an arm in a sling while you’re walking on crutches. Nothing felt off during this ceremony. I watched it a shameful amount of times too, and really, they’re their perfect old selves. I really don’t understand how some of you can see something being off between them. Really. Maybe watch it again? I don’t know… I’m lacking of argument on this point, because I don’t see what you see and I think this footage speaks for itself.
