I’m sorry if I offended you, anon. I too have a low level of dyslexia, which basically results in me being unable to handwrite without making one mistake a word and switching words and letters, but I’m living a very happy life, so really, my point wasn’t to insult people who have this illness or qualify it as sad. As you may know, there are different level of dyslexia, and we have no idea how severe Gillian’s boy’s is.
I think it’s also very different when you have that yourself and have to deal with it on a daily basis than when you’re a parent and see your child not growing up with the same chances than the other children. It’s unfair, and somehow sad, and I think that’s the reason why Gillian had tears in her eyes yesterday.
She did this speech for a very personal reason, which is why we can all agree that it was moving and sincere, and I’m pretty sure there’s was no one else in her mind than her little boy at this moment.
Étiquette : ucl
Very moving her speech. It’s a special topic for her bc she has a kid with dyslexia. But sorry I need to say that… she still don’t seem happy for someone with so many things happening in her life. She’ git sad eyes. And I feel sad too. 😔
I think she was just genuinely moved by her speech and the fact that it echoes her own struggle and her child’s.
It’s been a long time since I felt like Gillian wasn’t acting or cheating and it feels good to see her like that, even if it’s for such a sad thing.
do you think it’s Oscar or Felix who has dyslexia? I know what you mean by Gillian being sincere on this. It made me reconnect with her a little bit. I like it better when she does charity because of her personal experience rather than tweeting about some random thing and not being involved for real. I think she should focus on a few and really work with them.
I think it’s Oscar, I have heard this rumor for a long time, but that’s really the first time she openly talks about it, so it seems like the rumor was true.
And I agree, I think it’s mostly what she does with the charities she’s involved with, like Sayes, or Childreach and this one too, but lately she used to promote so many different charities, I can’t even remember which ones and what for and I’m not sure she can either. Of course, we shouldn’t say that, because there’s never enough charity, but on the other hand, I feel like it’s easier to bring people to give their money for a cause that really matters to you for reasons, than multiply the random tweets.
It is too fake for me. She has been getting a lot of recognition lately, thanks to the important connections she has now established. I don’t believe she really meant whatever she said at that ceremony.
Sorry to disagree on that. I sometimes feel like Gillian is invested is so many charities that she doesn’t always know what she’s doing and what she’s talking about, but she’s involved in this one for a long time, and the fact that it resonates with her personal life and her child was moving and sincere.
She has made many mistakes lately, but I can’t blame her for everything she does or says.
