sunshinetoday:

Humility enables us to look at what joins us rather than what sets us apart – our common humanity, wounds, longings. Instead of pursuing bleak self-interest we foster connection. Without humility we are at the mercy of our egos. We worry about success, status and what we don’t have. There is a technique for spotting when you’re in egoistic thinking with five bad habits that all begin handily with the letter C: Comparing, Criticising, Complaining, Controlling, Competing. These thoughts are defence mechanisms, only they don’t work. They rob us of peace of mind, and each time we pick up one of these toxic Cs we cloud our minds and outlook.

About the book mention…

gunningforabasementoffice:

I’ve had a lot of anons (most of them very angry) writing about We almost every day.  And I apologize that I haven’t been able to respond to all of you, but also that it’s taken me a while to even make a post on the topic.  I was going to publish it as an answer to an ask, but since all the asks have had some very sharp things to say, I don’t feel comfortable making them public.

So.  About the thanks in Gillian’s We book.  Everyone knows by now that she thanked Peter Morgan.  Here are some things to keep in mind: the book was originally supposed to be published this autumn, so it had to have been finished by early to mid 2016.

Now here are some other things that haven’t yet been discussed.  The casting agency that represents PM in the US is UTA.  UTA and Atria Books (the publisher of Gillian’s We book) have a joined partnership in publishing, and co-own Keyword Press.
