the smile doesn’t reach her eyes.

megsandroses:

(it’s not about specific time in their life)

oh god, oh god, oh god, you think as you close your eyes and the distance between your and her
lips. you feel them and it’s kind of familiar but also brand new feeling. the
kiss won’t last long, so you don’t want to think about anything else. just this
kiss. just you and her trapped in this moment.

you almost don’t hear when they yell “cut!”. you don’t
want to stop kissing her, ever. you’ve missed those lips so much. and you’ve
missed calling those lips yours. they’d always been yours and it feels weird
not to have them now.

you don’t hear the voices, you’re lost in her eyes
again, watching her every move. she smiles at you, but it isn’t the smile you
remember – she used to smile with her eyes that were sparkling with joy. now
she’s smiling only with her lips, which is sad to witness. beautiful but so
damn sad.

i need to make her
truly smile,
you think as you watch her step back. you want to fall
down, make an idiot out of yourself, anything really to make those eyes smile
again. you want to hear her laughter. but as you see her standing next to him,
you know that it’s gone. maybe not forever but for as long as he’s here.

you leave as quickly as possible, you can’t stand them
together. it never hit you so hard, it was never this impossible to bear.

she comes to your trailer tonight. you want to throw
her out, make her go, come back to her bed. you wish you didn’t want her here. you wish you could tell her no, say that you can’t, that she shouldn’t. that
her place is there and you’re not the same anymore. but as you watch her
climbing on your bed, the words just don’t come out of your mouth. you can just
keep watching her and you fall in love with her eyes and face and body. again.

“why are you here?” you finally ask when she lays next
to you and puts her arm on your chest. your heart’s never beaten so fast and
loud. your whole body is trembling and sweating and waiting for her next move. “please…”

she looks at you and smiles. still, the smile doesn’t
reach her eyes. she’s sad.

“please” she whispers, not caring about your question. she kisses your chest and then lays her head there.

“please what?”

she looks at you one last time before falling asleep.

“make me smile again.”
