I think what the audible means regarding s11 is that Gillian doesn’t hate the X-Files nor she wants to distance herself from the franchise (not that I ever thought so) and that probably the problem with the negotiations is time/availability/number of episodes and that’s good. I hope we’ll have an agreement soon. Who knows, maybe they have agreed already. I’m more positive than I was yesterday!

I agree with you, anon. I think it’s the most positive thing in regards to season 11 that we have so far.

Do you have any sense of w hat this audible thing may mean to S11 cause I really don’t get it.

I don’t think it causes anything bad regarding season 11. I’m assuming it was recorded a few months ago and meant to be released soon before season 11 is officially announced. I think it’s good, because there’s no way they’d do kind of a prequel to the revival if there’s to plan to make a sequel.

Is it not too late for S11 filming this summer though? If it isn’t announced until May, the earliest they could realistically shoot is fall and her boys will be in school. In London. She isn’t likely to agree with that, so filming in summer 2018? 3 years after S10? Really?

Why would her boys being at school be a problem? She did Streetcar for 3 months last year, and it wasn’t during the summer. She’s used to work abroad and not only in August!

They could film this fall, why not. The only issue I can see is that if they start in October for example, and if they’d agreed to do 8 or 10, it’ll be extended during winter and I can see Gillian and David refuse to film in Vancouver during winter. (I would totally refuse! lol) IWTB seemed to be a pain in the ass to film! So maybe they’ll film in LA this time…

When you say you wait for a positive answer for s11 at the Upfronts you mean a definitely yes or the usual « conversations are happening » etc? I.m optimist we’ll see The X-Files again in our screens but if the problem with negotiations is the number of episodes I can’t see how they’ll convince Gillian to do more unless they wait another 10 years till her kids go to university. I wish FOX would agree to 6 or 8 episodes so we can have a good chance to get s11 anytime soon.

I’m optimistic too, and I believe the official greenlight will be announced during the Upfronts. They can’t keep saying “conversations are happening” for one more year, it’s ridiculous. At this point, they have to say something real. The way I see it is that Fox want 10, Gillian wants 6, so they’ll agree on 8 and maybe David will do 2 on his own.

Also, I think it’ll be the last one, so it better be good.

did you see pat munn’s tweet about the xfiles the other day? he’s still saying that season 11 won’t happen anytime soon. mitch pileggi said last week that he hasn’t heard any news either. if another year goes by…well, dd and ga aren’t getting any younger. the longer they hold off, the more fans are gonna lose interest as well. if negotiations are all about how many episodes there should be (ga probably won’t do more than 6 again i’d imagine) then fox need to make a decision.

I will start to worry for real if we don’t get a positive answer at the Upfronts in May. Since then, I’m positive and I think it’ll happen and air in early 2018.

FYI I’m one of those fans hoping GA says no. I realize Mulder is stuck on the bridge, but I have no respect for CC for what he has ruined in season 10, I want it over forever. There is NO DOUBT he would ruin it even more if season 11 came about. Just think about the idiotic dialogue we had to endure in his 3 eps. Think about how absolutely STUPID it was that CC thinks the revival could be 6 weeks long! He seriously doesn’t even pay attention to any details. I want him forever stopped. Sorry.

I understand your point and I relate to some of your arguments, but I want to have faith in humanity. Actually no, i want to have faith Fox for telling Chris Carter it’s maybe not a good idea to piss off his whole own fandom one more time, to hire good writers, new and old ones and to make everything in their power to make it good, because it’s the only way the ratings and the critics will be good.
Also, it’s great if you can, but I personally can’t live with one of my favorite character of all time dying on a bridge forever, without knowing what will happen to him, to the love of his life or to his son. I need a god damn closure.

If season 11 is a sure thing, why did David say this earlier in March? Q: Do you have new acting projects coming up? A: I’m looking at new shows to do right now. (source: The Washington Post)

He also said if he was a betting man he would bet on it happening. At this point, I think season 11 is a done deal. Everybody says they can’t talk about it, so if there was nothing to talk about they would just say it. David said he’s taking it slow on the acting part of his career, and waiting for the next good project he could be in, but I think he meant that besides X-Files. He can do two shows, it wouldn’t be the first time.
