Thank you, anon! I don’t only publish asks about people agreeing with me. Where would be the fun in doing that, right?
You must have misunderstood my words. I’ve always think it’s okay to not believe Gillian and David are together. I have friends here, who don’t believe, or who don’t necessarily want them to be together, or who just don’t care, and it’s fine.
What I condemn, is this behavior which consists on mocking Gillovny fans, openly making fun of us for being so naive for years, taking everything said about David and Gillian as a threat to their new religion Gillorgan or whatever its name is, making and rebloging manips in order to dupe the fandom, faking some emotional investment in a supposed relationship when they know the guy since two seconds and know nothing about him, and being so condescending they think they hold the truth when there’s literally nothing to support their beliefs compared to what we have in the Gillovny side of this fandom.
Yes, I said “side” because it is what it is. But be assured that I’m not creating it, they are. I’m the one who always went to talk in private with this other side when things started to get out off control and try to smooth things, I’ve always been for peace inside this fandom no matter our disagreements, because in the end, we all love the same persons.
That said, it’s been too far for me and I’ve seen inexcusable things. They are literally doing what they’ve been accusing us to do in the last ten years or so, only being more condescending, mean and disrespectful toward us, toward Gillian and even toward Peter Morgan who they seem to adore so much, but maybe forget there’s still a chance that this married man, father or five and well respected producer is not dating Gillian Anderson, does not appreciate to find his picture photoshopped, and is not the kind of celebrity who is used to be treated that way.
So to be clear, I agree what’s happening has probably divided the fandom forever, but I refuse to take any responsibility in its division, I’m not that powerful anyway, and in the end, who laughs last, laugh the best.
