I believe G’s actions are a result of not having another option bc of contract clauses (e.g. with Netflix) so that she’s no other choice then attending these events with PM. You can see it clearly in her face, it doesn’t suit her. If it were a so called « Fauxmance » there’d have been a confirmation from her PR team. But there was non as far as I can remember. Maybe the whole situation was the reason David cancelled WWHL. Or it was a condition from FOX for more X-Files? Love to hear your opinion.

I agree with you, everything that is happening lately with Peter Morgan seem professional and most of all doesn’t seem natural. To me, there’s clearly some agenda behind all this, and it has nothing to do with love. It’s not a showmance either, or at this point we all would have seen the “mance” part of it. I think they both agreed to show up at his events together, for a reason I ignore, but it has to come down to his work and his projects somehow.
I think none of them realized how far it could escalate in Gillian’s fandom, and even reach The Crown’s fandom who now legit complains about Gillian’s fans behavior on social media. I can imagine Gillian not really thinking her fans would imagine she’s dating him, that bringing another date to his premiere, not interacting with him, not touching him and not looking like she wants to be there would be enough to make it clear she’s not with him. Obviously, it failed. It did escalate, reached her friends, their kids, her work, David. So I guess now things might change, and she might somehow acknowledge what’s happening, if she can.
