I don’t think Gillian injury is that bad. I am not a doctor but I have had lots of broken bones and have seen a lot of family members have broken bones(I live one a farm and am the youngest of the older cousins). Most of the time if the person is ina walking cast like the one Gillian has then they are in the final stretch of recovery or it wasn’t that bad at all. A lot of the time it was two weeks with a walking case not standing on it (on cr crutches ) and a week wearing it walking.
