There are people who can make you burst into laughter just by doing nothing. David is clearly that kind of person for Gillian. He’s very funny, but he’s more deadpan than the kind of funny who makes you laugh out loud. Except for Gillian Anderson. Because she loves him.
It was quite fun to see gillians reaction to that joke to Bafta about her. She just smiled (embarrassingly?) and looked at him as we do not mention. opposite the jokes that David did, which is really not funny, she is completely smashed by laughing and becomes almost a teenager unable to walk and talk. And only have eyes for him. If it’s not love, I do not know what love is. She looks at him as if he is a god. If they are not together, then there is something that the two do not understand!!
