I don’t like “people of color” because I’m not a people of color. I’m just me. Those words feel like there are the whites on one side and ALL the others on the other side. Why would a white person be different than an Asian person, but a black person would be the same? See what I mean? I don’t care if “black” is rooted on slavery. Slavery is my, and black people’s heritage. You can’t take it from us only by changing the way you call us. If everyone feels free to call white people white (which, btw, is also rooted in slavery and white supremacy), I personally think that it should be okay to call black people black.
