how would it hurt david to show some support to gillian and the other female staff on xfiles? probably because he doesn’t care about equality because it doesn’t affect him. this is the guy who does modelling jobs with women young enough to be his daughters and doesn’t speak up when a woman half his age is cast as the wife and mother of his child on aquarius. not to mention all the unnecessarily young love interests he had on californication.

You know, the problem with David is that everyone think he is his characters. I don’t know why, it’s weird, but some people seem to be unable to differentiate the reality from the fiction with him. So I’ll say it once again, David Duchovny is not Hank Moody.
David doesn’t have to speak up now, he didn’t ask for being dragged into this, and one costar out of two dragging their show and its creator is enough. Season 11 doesn’t need more bad press. I hope he doesn’t say anything and let all this calm down and fades before they start filming.
He doesn’t have to prove anything, he shows his support for women when he feels like it, he has done it many times, he has supported Gillian in her negotiations, publicly (remember his birthday tweet last year) and probably privately too.
He has a manager, and a PR team who know what to do and what not to do or say in those circumstances, and you can tell the difference with Gillian who does what the fuck she wants and seems to be on her own right now.
