Dear David:

I love you so hard. To the moon and back. But when your colleague calls out sexism in the project you were in together for so long, you need to acknowledge it. You need to put your money where your pussy hat is. I’m rooting for you, Duchovny. Please use your voice.

Retweet. Something.

I’m so sick of this shit and your stupid Gillian Anderson feminism. What Gillian Anderson says must be what everyone else should be thinking, saying, doing, right? Gillian Anderson could’ve spoken up beforehand if she really cares about the topic, and not because she now needs people and media to stop talking about the 400+ vacation pictures. Gillian Anderson is no stranger to Chris Carter, I’m sure this big feminist would’ve found a way to make a point, right? And if not, she probably shouldn’t have signed up for it (but the millions… 🙄). It’s all smokescreen and immature. David doesn’t need to cover up his latest scandal. And he isn’t that stupid to think that this changes anything ever. She could have changed something if she would’ve gotten a female writer on board. Or if she would’ve refused to do S11 if there had been suitable ones and CC just didn’t want a woman just because she’s a woman. But she did neither. What a surprise…

I am laughing so hard seeing that you cowards deleted all the comments except for @justholdinghandsok ’s to bash her. You couldn’t even deal with the ones reasonably argueing with you. 😂😂😂 @chileanderson @dangerscully @2moms-0fucks @crossedbeams

And @mycoolexterior – maybe you don’t get newspapers on Mars, or any other website with the exception of tumblr, but if the biggest outlets in both Germany and Austria have her nudes on a WHOLE page on a Sunday, the most important day for them, and post new vacation pics daily on their websites, of Gillian Anderson no less, it’s a pretty safe guess that YOU are in the minority here.

Thanks David Duchovny for your great statement regarding this discussion. From the beginning, it had nothing to do with proper feminism or proper and sincere work for that matter. It’s Gillian Anderson not having gotten her ass up and do something while something could still be done, but instead bringing it up from her comfortable couch when the deal’s already done.

Thanks for pointing this out @mulderlovesaliens2k18! There seem to be an interesting tendency to try to reduce some of us to silence, which I find very funny and interesting, and also useless because it’ll of course never happen. We were trying to have a debate here, oppose different arguments to something we deeply disagreed with, for good reasons. In my opinion, this post was wrong in many ways. But instead of being a group of smart adults, a whole part of this fandom who engaged in this post have been called “sociopath” before being completely deleted. 2 weeks from the filming, and you’re digging the gap that stands between the sides of this fandom instead of trying to accept to step we made towards you by peacefully and respectfully engage in a conversation. Do you see how childish it is? You are not right and we are not wrong. You don’t get to decide what’s okay to say or think or post. Trying to silence people is called despotism, and it’s not going to work here.

But to recenter and end this debate, for all of you who wanted David to say something about Gillian’s opinion on the xf writers, he did. Just last week.

“The truth of the matter is there really haven’t been that many writers on The X-Files over the 24 years. Even going into this new season, it’s a lot of the same people, which is a testament to Chris’ loyalty and his taste, really. Once you venture out of that, I certainly would be afraid sometimes that people wouldn’t get it” (x)

Case closed. Because after what Gillian did, he will have to answer this question again and again during the promo, this will probably be his answer every time.
