There’s an article in a newspaper today where Portofino is described as the meeting point for famous people to have a taste of « la dolce vita. » Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Humphrey Bogart, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman, Frank Sinatra, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Carla Bruni, Bar Refaeli, Sylvester Stallone, etc. went there. It points out there’s no celebrity that hasn’t been there on their yacht. Therefore, it’s pretty safe to say they went there to be seen and photographed.1/1

The article includes only a picture of a hotel which is the hotel where they stayed. I don’t believe in the PR stunt theory but, since there were easier, more obvious and elegant ways to come out as a couple, I wonder what Portofino was all about.2/2
