Backgrid seems to be the agency who sells the pictures. So I believe the paps sell them their pictures of celebrities, and then they sell them to press and whoever wants to buy.
I just noticed on the portofino twitter page pic they posted of GA « credit to Backgrid »… a celebrity news agency… Is that a fancy way of saying paparazzi? Or do they work with celebs?
