That tweet sounds manipulative to make us be hooked on Gillovny again and give us hope when there’s no hope to have yet. I thought I wanted her to tweet him but I realize that I’d prefer her to stop teasing him and trolling us and be sincere.

And it seems like it’s the general opinion in the Gillovny fandom that I do not share.

Maybe I’m going to reveal something huge now, but no celebrity is being sincere in Twitter. I think I’ve said that a thousand times, but I will do it again. Gillian and David’s tweets about each other are not for them, they don’t communicate with them, they don’t actually flirt with each other on social media, they don’t reflect the status of their relationship. Never, maybe with the one exception of “especially one of you” which was something else in my opinion.

Those tweets have always been for us, to entertain their fandom and bring fun and joy here. If you feel this one was more manipulative than all the other ones, it is because you’re biased, which I guess is normal after what we’ve been through. But honestly, this fandom (and even myself sometimes, I have to admit it) have always wanted to read more in those tweets than what they actually are. I’ve never thought that “no ramp required” was true and sincere, and I don’t think this one is forced or manipulative. Nothing has changed in those birthday tweets except the vision we have of them.
