I really don’t have a problem with Gillian be the next queen. But bothers me the way the media will talk about (writter’s girlfriend) because she deserves more than that. I read some blogs saying about double standards, because if were Gillian worked with David in another project will be our dream but with PM is nepotism. But it’s not the case. If she is happy so do it and I hope she recieve even more recognition. For me it’s only odd the way they talking about DD, like if he is some kind (1)

(2) poison in Gillian’s career, everything he says (the small things) become something misogynist and we recieve a speech about feminism. But with PM it’s never like that I didn’t see any speech about the dailymail’s quote even if it’s false (if was DD’s quote false or not, we would have seen already).

First of all, all I could suggest is to stop reading those blogs. They can brag about feminism as much as they want, they won’t own it and they won’t make PM a feminist nor his show.
All of them were Gillovny last year. They’ve written long ass nsfw Gillovny RPF, they analyzed their interviews and body language and they’ve been trashier than I ever have been. I even was friends with quite a few of them and back in October last year, we all agreed that Gillian would never date a man like PM and that all of that was bullshit. Some of them even had extremist ideas on Gillovny and I used to argue with them to try to tone them down.

It’s the same people who made fun of us last year, when her relationship with PM was confirmed, when we said Gillian would be in The Crown season 3. Now that it is really an option, they back-pedal and find excuses.
So you know… talking about double standards!
They don’t like PM, they don’t like The Crown, they don’t hate David. They just want to prove us wrong and tell us how disrespectful we are for continuing to ship Gillovny. They hope Gillian will notice them and see what good fans they are and how bad we are.
But they forgot that Gillian loves and support David no matter what.

That’s my personal opinion, but I don’t think it’s nepotism. I want to have a higher opinion on Gillian and believe all of that wasn’t about a role. That said, we all know where the press will go and there’s nothing to do against that. She’ll be the showrunner’s girlfriend, it’ll be in every article. It’s sad but that’s how it is.
What the fandom think is one thing and we can fight all day long about that, in the end, it doesn’t matter. It won’t have any impact on Gillian’s life and career. But it’s something else when it’s in the press. The Crown has big press coverage in general. Add Gillian, PM and some Portofino pictures in the equation and you know it’ll be bad. It’s a fact. Regardless what each side of the fandom think.
