Promos on YouTube and fake crashed UFO are apparently not enough to bring back the interest in the show. I think there’s only one thing that could have worked and it’s Gillian and David’s chemistry. Fox knows it as well, they even produced a few Gillovny oriented promos. These two on a late show or two would have been the only right way to promote the show and maybe raise up the ratings. sadly, that’s not going to happen this time…
They actually did quite a lot of promo for the show! There were lots of videos on their channel and there are posters of it in certain cities, not just the US but also in Canada (and maybe other countries). And there was another fake ufo crashing site somewhere… So it’s not like they did nothing to promote it! What was lacking were the interviews, though. G and D needed to do some together! And why wasn’t ET or Access on the set? And I agree, they should have waited longer before airing it.
