rest in peace x-files universe. rest knowing your protagonists hung up their badges (a choice not theirs but not unwelcome) to prepare for a change of life baby that is 100% without a doubt theirâs. rest knowing that fox mulder is hanging up conspiracies and dana scully her scalpel to focus their time and love on being a family. rest knowing that the random cash in the mailbox comes from a beneficiary who shows his face from time to time and is always treated as part of the family. rest knowing that godfather skinner is content to have his bald head slapped by his unruliest agentsâ baby as he wheels himself around the unremarkable house. rest knowing they are all exactly where they need to be- william fighting, mulder and scully parenting, and skinner rehabilitating.
i was pleasantly surprised and subsequently kind of floored by david duchovnyâs acting in that final scene. he captures mulderâs grief real fuckin well and iâm not in the mood to give that man credit for anything rn but. where itâs dueâŠâŠâŠâŠ..Â
give the man an emmy but bash him over the head with itÂ
