This is maybe kinda random but since you’re French and in the industry: Didn’t the French remake/adaption of « The Fall » premiere this week? How did the critics like it?

Oh boy, yes, France did that. I tried to watch the first episode because… I don’t know why. I stopped after 5 minutes, it was to cringeworthy. I don’t know how the critics liked it, but just talking about makes me want to curl up in a corner and sob in shame.

The thing is, I think david does know that they’re filming him but doesn’t want to stand up for himself. Like, he gets so agitated about people filming him otherwise, right? Soo… I think he’s just letting this happen. Maybe he actually thinks he looks good or athletic or whatever…. but I’m genuinely and seriously concerned for his health, no joke.

I think it’s the same than with Gillian on the set. He knows they’re filming him but he doesn’t even think it could be posted on social media and even it is, he has no idea how to find it and who’s gonna see it. That’s why it’s even more infuriating to see MP commenting on these videos like it’s nothing. I can’t believe David would agree with that.
As about being concerned for his health, seriously don’t. The guy’s an athlete, he’s probably been doing that his whole life without us being privy to it. So I agree it’s not really pretty to watch, and he looks like he’s slowly dying, but this is the way he lives his life, with or without us watching.

i don’t think gillian had a « crisis », i just think she wanted a change because she was turning 50 and finally leaving a large part of her life behind her (playing scully). she’s still the same gillian (see her sense of humor at chicago con last month). if anything, she’s matured since 2016.

I call it a crisis, you call it a change, these are just words. I think we can agree that there’s a big difference between pre-2016-Gillian and nowadays-Gillian, and I much preferred the one she was before. I will always be wondering what could have triggered this “change” but I’m sure eventually, I’ll come at peace with who she has become.

I agree with you on the Midlife Crises hitting both D and G at the same time, and I don’t care, I believe it had to do with their breakup, not just romantic, but probably the breakup of the relationship of similar ambitions they thought they had. Gillian cutting her hair – a sign of moving on from trauma, was a clue to me, and what she said about why she cut her hair (Times interview) sealed the deal, for me anyways. With David… its so obvious it seems like an joke, Joaquin Phoenix style.
