You guys think we’ve rarely seen David and can’t tell how he is? Has everyone forgotten seeing David happy in selfies with fans? Or rappers? Or at a basketball game with his son? Or at his book talks? At cons? Bringing up Gillian happily! He was very happy (and glowing, at times) each time. Gillian also glows when she isn’t around NoName. She’s happy and relaxed. She wears the bracelet, watch and choker. They LOOK happy and it can be SEEN. Maybe this is why the other anon is confused.

To be fair, it’s been a long time since we’re seen Gillian on a public appearance. We barely had footage from Glastonbury, she cancelled the panel in Maine, and I don’t even remember when was the last time she did a real interview or anything that would show her face for more than 3 minutes. So it’s really hard to say how she is right now, if she’s glowing and happy or not. David didn’t look ¨that* happy at the SDCC, but that’s his face whenever he does a con without Gillian. He wasn’t different when he was doing them with Mitch, for example. He’s a moody deadpan man of few words, so I didn’t see anything wrong in his behavior during this panel.

So I don’t want to jump on conclusion based on pretty much nothing to say how bad they’re looking right now. Filming starts in 10 days, it won’t be long since we get a hint of their real mood. 

Where is David? Where is Gillian? Neither has been seen since SDCC (D) and the Rome pictures with the kids (G). And I don’t mean guessing, I mean so we really know and have confirmation by pictures that are properly marked and stamped (ahem, that means not from « that » blog) and fan selfies? Because I’m starting to wonder where they are, and it’s interesting to think about.

What blog do you mean? No idea where they are, I can only guess that David is still in Cali as he’s usually spotted at LAX when he flies to NY, and Gillian could be anywhere, but I’m guessing she’s still with her boys as she’s about to spend 5 months away from home.

My words were not meant to insult your fandom or what you believe in. I understand the reason why it was such a big deal for you in the first place. We aren’t a big fandom but I have friends who were fans of Peter Morgan’s work regarding the British Monarchy for years and this isn’t what we ever wanted to see or get dragged into. It’s not your fault per se, the pictures of Portofino are their fault.

And it’s not only people from your fandom anymore saying that this was inappropriate. It’s one thing to do these things in private but no one can be dumb enough to think that there won’t be reprecussions for this kind of behaviour in public, especially at such a place and as a public figure. It’s unprofessional and leaves you with pictures and information you never wanted to have seen. Now it’s THAT guy who pulls knickers down and puts his mouth against a woman’s vagina in public. That’s sad.

Don’t worry, I didn’t take your message in a bad way at all. I was genuinely interested in having your point of view, and I guess we have a lot in common in this mess. Nor your fandom neither ours wanted to see that, and we both have to deal with it now. As you said, that’s sad.

Hey there, I’ve been lurking on your blog for quite some time now. I’m not in this fandom, but a part of the community that’s into The Crown. We’ve had a lot of contact with Gillian Anderson fans over the last couple of months, and I have to admit it took me a while to figure out that part of your fandom was attached to the idea of Gillian and David Duchovny being in a romantic relationship and that’s why The Crowns and Peter Morgan’s tags were flooded with theories and weird manips all of a (1)

sudden. Some of us genuinely thought that Gillian Anderson would be the next Queen based on her profile and her looks, and it was annoying that people kept accusing Peter Morgan for whatever, searched for compromising articles that made their way into our fandom and generally changed the tone even in our circles as the confusion even started there. 

There’s no ‘ship’ around Peter Morgan and therefore no emotional bonds – but I have to say the last couple of weeks, mainly because of what he’d said about Season 2 and these pictures from his vacation, which of course we all saw too, changed a lot in our community as well. With the pics came more info about his personal background, which made it all so much worse! We see the writer in a different light now, which was important even just ton say ‘son’. To me these vacation pictures changed a lot. I find them distasteful especially because what has been done in the public, and we curse the day we got mixed up with your fandom and Gillian Anderson. Esoecially with the satements regarding Season 2 and the weird changes that will come in it. Peter Morgan was highly regarded a couple of months ago. Now, not so much anymore, unfortunately. (End)

Thanks a lot for this message, anon. Since all this started, I’ve always wondered how The Crown’s fandom was dealing with it and what was their opinion on Gillian and on her relationship with him, so thank you for your insight. It’s very interesting. We curse the day we got mixed up with your fandom and Peter Morgan too, so that gives us a common point, such as not being very fond of his persona. I know the tone isn’t delivered in a message so just to clear it before-it is not suppossed to offend you and ur answers regarding that to topic or G herself but tbh I have a hard time to believe that she is so famous that paps really would follow her anywhere now. Isn’t it really hard to find someone in rome-kinda busy city?!and why take so many pics(again)of a mom with kids?I don’t believe she’d exploit her kids but this is just strange-how do you think they know of private G travelling ?THX

I’m not offended, don’t worry 🙂 You’re right, she’s not a A-lister, but it’s Italy, XF is filming soon again, so I guess when they knew they have an internationally famous celebrity coming in their country for the second time with her kids that no one has ever seen before, why not go for it? Paparazzi is a very small industry where everyone knows everyone. If one pap told the othersthat Gillian Anderson was in town and used to be okay to be paped once, they’ll follow her again and again. 

They probably knew that she was traveling because airport crew are used to give that kind of tips to paps for money. It’s like that in every country. Airports, hotels, restaurants… trust no one. 

I always thought Gillian had that princess Diana essence around her. So many similarities, such an extraordinary personality trapped in nowheresland, needing attention and hating at the same time. But only now, as I’ve watched « My mother Diana », it became almost too much given the recent events in Gillian’s life. Watch it on youtube, especially the last 10 minutes. It’s unbelievable how akin they are! I just hope that Gillian will be alright in the end.

That’s a very interesting comparison, anon. I will watch it, thanks for the rec. I don’t know much about Diana, I was very young when she passed, but I can see what you mean about their aura. There’s something there…

JHH, is there any context to the pictures from Rome? Why is she sitting on the pavement? Why is she wearing those godawful sneakers? I’ve been to Rome many times, it’s not like there is any shortage of places to sit and it’s not like you cannot walk there wearing regular shoes, flats or sandals???

There’s no context, she’s just vacationing, and sometimes, when you’re a tourist and visiting a city, that kind of things happen for no particular reasons 🙂

/1/ Your sentence « I think she tried to orchestrate some sort of coming out and it backfired badly » caught my attention. Maybe all these years being a fan of Gillian I misunderstood her and all she stands for, but I would have never thought she would « orchestrate » anything with the paps, let alone reveal a new relationship. I cannot imagine her orchestrating such a thing and saying to the paps: « Look, I want to come out with my bf (!!!), let’s make a deal that you follow us around on Monday…

/2/ and Tuesday” and then on Wednesday she thought “OK, I’m safe now, I’m gonna let my bf poke around my intimate parts in public.” She is a 48 y.o. experienced actress and a star, not a naïve young girl. I have no problem whatsoever with her dating whoever she wishes, but this whole mess is so unlike her that I can’t wrap my head around it no matter how much I tried. If you are really becoming OK with it all, then I’m a little jealous.

This is the only logical explanation I could come up with. In my opinion, the equation is simple. The law here in Europe would have allowed her to sue. But as new papers are printed every week in many different countries with those pictures, it means they’re still for sale, so no one has been sued.

Knowing Gillian, we would have expected her to not let it go so easily, or at least, to throw shade at those paps publicly on Twitter maybe. She did nothing of that, which for me, means she can’t. And if she can’t, it means she has originated it. I think she agreed on some nice pictures walking the street and eating ice-cream, but yes, it backfired. There’s 450 pictures of them during several days with some of them where they look directly at the camera. I don’t see any other explanation than that.

Now they think she’s okay with being followed around and photographed all day, why would they not keep going as she’s back in Italy? It’s not a coincidence, and I think it’ll happen every time she’ll go there. But maybe she will sue the ones who followed her with her kids because it was without her consent. The fact that the pictures aren’t really publicly available so far, and that no one really knows where to find them and where they come from must mean something. If no paper buy and release them, it means she was able to catch them before but couldn’t do anything about the Portofino ones. 

There was an interview in June where she said “there are so many things in this business that can make you feel uncomfortable – you feel you’re selling your soul in a sense. And that makes you feel depleted, that you’re doing things that aren’t genuine.” (source) So maybe that was one of those things and now it’s too late and there’s nothing she can do to fix it.
