I lost it during the globes, had a meltdown and a nervous breakdown and went over it. I’m not going to do that again. So I’m watching, waiting to see what happens, but I’m not going to lose it because they stand at 50 meters from each other on the red carpet. 🤷🏽♀️
At this point, I don’t know, so I’m just waiting and see what comes up. So far, it’s nothing we haven’t seen already. By tomorrow, it’ll be forgotten.
Isn’t it always the same question? Awards shows after awards shows? 🤷🏽♀️
It’s the Globes all over again, but still, she’ll be in NY tomorrow.

Gillian at the Baftas
That’s not entirely true, though. Her social media has changed since last summer, so way before the Peter Morgan mess and so before people started to attack her for that on Twitter. In my opinion, it coincides with her being OBE, as it seems like she had been given this title in August last year.
I think her social media reflect what kind of things she wants to promote too. It’s her first communication platform, so it has to be in phase with her jobs. After the summer, when she finished to do all those cons, she started to be fully invested in charities, with the promotion tour of Sold and the many charity events she did. It would have been weird for her to speak about something so important such as child trafficking all day long for weeks, even months, but keep being a troll on Twitter.
Then, came the promotion of We. Her social media lightened a little bit, but still, she was very cautious and serious, because once again, she was working on something important. The promotion of We has ended not long ago, and soon, she’ll be focusing on XF, so I bet the atmosphere of her social media will lighten a lot!
What happened to her on Twitter was indeed awful, but we know she isn’t that much on it herself, and hopefully, her handler didn’t show her the worst. She’s a professional actress, she does this job for a long time, so I’m not going to say she’s bulletproof, but she’s used to getting shit thrown at her. Sometimes, it comes from the press, the critics, the people, the fans… It happens, and I’m sure she can handle it. She has, actually. She kinda told us to fuck off, and it has quiet down. Thankfully, she has that kind of authority on her fans and on people in general.
So don’t worry too much, and most of all, don’t feel guilty for something you didn’t do. It was a handful of haters, and certainly not the major part of the fandom. It’s not “our” fault 🙂
That’s always what she said, though. She always said she has a handler. I believe this person is the one who tweets to promote her work and does all the charity tweets. Gillian also said this person sends her funny pics and she finds the caption to tweet for the #tbt. But I’m also convinced Gillian has an hand on her Twitter too, when she answers someone’s tweet for example. Even if she doesn’t tap the words herself, they still come from her.
On the other hand, David doesn’t really seem to have a Twitter person, or at least, not a full time one. If he had one, he wouldn’t tweet the same thing 4 times in a row until he has managed to put the right link and he has found the right wording. I hope that doesn’t change! You also can see when he goes through his tag and starts to like tweets. It’s all him. So the fact that they always tweet at the same time is…. Interesting…
Also, I’m sorry to tell you that so directly, but of course their flirting on social media is for PR. Twitter is for PR. When you’re famous, social media in general are for PR. And thank god, it is. Can you imagine if it was their only way to communicate with each other? They don’t need us to see what they tell each other in private, so everything they put on social media, including the flirting and the teasing is for us, hence for PR. But David is the only one she’s comfortable . doing this with, and I think it’s meaningful enough. We know he isn’t comfortable with social media at all, he’s always scared to say something he would regret, but he lets her having fun with him, and sometimes even jumps in. I think that’s cute. But in any way we should over interpret what happens on social media. It’s not going to confirm Gillovny, nor deny it. Twitter is a communication tool, so of course they use it for us, not for them.
Except for “Especially one of you.” That one was the death of me.
I’ve noticed that too. It was not really a surprised, she obviously has changed the way she runs her social media in the last 6 months or so. It seems like she wants less trolling and more seriousness. There could be a million reasons to that, but somehow, I think she’ll be back to her funny #tbt and good old trolling at some point.
