I wouldn’t say she looked “nervous”, maybe more taken aback, she answered quickly with a big “yes” like she wanted to skip the question as fast as possible. The radio is what you said, she was asked about the pay inequality and she called David her “partner”. Then she said “if I was single and didn’t have children” on a written interview. It’s always annoying when things like that happen on paper because you can’t see her face, you can’t hear the way she said it, you can’t even be sure it’s her own words or the real phrasing. But by all means, I hope she meant David and I can’t see her calling PM her “partner” anyway.

Gillian Anderson Is Redefining What It Means To Have It All
King: How could women better support one another?
Anderson: We have been taught to have a competitive edge over other women as we’ve fought for the limited female roles in the workplace and over time, among other things, it has translated into harsh judgment and criticism of each other. We are our own and each other’s harshest critics and yet our very nature is in fact to be collaborative and compassionate. Now more than ever we need to work together to make sure that our civil and equal rights are protected.

I can’t find anywhere episode WWWHL with Gillian from last year :(((
As long as Vimeo don’t take it down, it’s here
Ross: You got great reviews in the movie House of Mirth.
Gillian Anderson: Thank you. David told me when he saw the film, it was like dying a slow death from a paper cut. It sounds as though he hated it, but in fact it was his way of expressing what my character had to go through.
Gillian Anderson on Jonathan Ross, November 2002
With the whole discourse whether Gillian and David are or were in a relationship lately and reading that it is embarressing that some fans took Gillian’s « game » too seriously, I’ve been pondering about this for a while now and the only question I have is: What was Gillian expecting we would think about her calling David Schmoopie? I mean, one google search and you know what Schmoopie stands for. So, why would she put that out there like that? Knowing very well how crazy this fandom is…
This question wakes me up at night. I have no answer… I’m not even sure she has one.
I can definitely see Gillian being interested in the part of the Queen in The Crown. It would be a huge commitment but given the recognition and the awards that Claire Foy got for this role, it’s a huge possibility. I’m not from England, but I can’t think of anyone else who could follow Claire in that role.
It is the biggest European Netflix show. Every British actress in their fifties would be interested in playing it. And there’s not so many of them…
I’ve noticed something unusual & interesting. For years on twitter Gillian doesn’t seem to hesitate plugging David’s books & his other projects, yet I can’t find a single instance where he has done the same for her. He hasn’t mentioned her new book once. Rationally, explanations may be either his lack of etiquette, honest disinterest in her projects, disinterest in her, or him being overly private & cautious about her. Either way I find it strange to not reciprocate her public support. Thoughts?
It isn’t disinterest, it is just David not being comfortable with social media and being protective of his privacy and their relationship, whatever you think it is. I think he had explained that enough for us not to worry about his lack of tweets. We know he supports her. He went at Streetcar last year. Not on the opening day, probably by choice, because he didn’t want to draw too much attention on him and them. Gillian said they’ve been here for each other in good and bad moments, there’s no reason to doubt he supports her. Remember he wore the pussy hat for basically his whole tour? We just have to read between the lines with those two.
My recent doubt stems from the fact that the interviewer at the London Eye asked Gillian and Jennifer about their partners as if it was common knowledge that Gillian had one and who it was. The only person that interviewer could’ve had in mind was Peter Morgan and I still wonder if Gillian would’ve even answered the question (though she did so very quickly) if Gillian had been talking about David.
I think there’s a third option in this case, which can be Mark. He’ll always be her partner no matter what, she’d talked about him a few times during the promotion of We, so I think it’s possible that when asked if her partner was supportive about her book, she had the father of her children in mind.
In your opinion, when will Gillian FINALLY address the rumors? This is arguably the most divided and heated the fandom has ever been and I’m sick and tired of having to hear about people going gaga over PM just because a few tabloids said they’re dating. I love Gillian, but the fact that her team has allowed this to keep dragging on without any response has really made the situation even worse. It really needs to be addressed!
I’m not convinced she will. I’ve always thought she should have but never I believed she would. She just never does. I think she will either confirm it by her actions (I hope this never happen!) or just stop hanging out with him and hopefully allow us to forget him peacefully. It’s been a few weeks now, and I’m starting to forget him already, so I hope it stays like that.
The only situation that would require her to address the rumor is if she has a part in The Crown. In my opinion, if this rumor is still alive when it’s announced, she will need to clarify her relationship with the creator of the show if she wants to avoid bad press.
