Hello JHH! Could you please write a rpf with Gillian being high on painkillers and David being her nurse? 😘

Okay but this is going to be a total nonsense! (And thank you so much to @sembell for the beta and to @becksndot5 for reading this nonsense first)

“You smell funny,” she says, sniffing around his face interrogatively as he starts to fix the bandage around her swollen foot.

“Nice.” he deadpans with a grin on his face. “How about you stop moving, so I can do that correctly?”

He has never been good with his hands, and he isn’t fond of seeing blood, open wounds or swollen joints, but as soon as he heard her cracky voice over the phone, he couldn’t resist and bought a plane ticket for London. She could use some help with the boys and everyday tasks. And he could take care of her just like she took care of him a few years ago, when he ended up in the hospital almost blind after a basketball game.

“You sound funny too.” she says, squinting her eyes as if to have a better look at him.

When he arrived, he hadn’t expected the painkillers she had to take to make her high enough to think that he was Mulder in person, nor to call him Mulder for the entire first day.

“Okay, honey. Just lay down, and…”

“As if you were far far away but also very close.” she continues. “Why are you so far away, David?” she furrows her brows in concern and all of a sudden, tears start to fall down her cheeks, her mouth distorted with pain and sorrow.

“Hey, hey! Babe! I’m right here, okay? I’m here!” He waves at her, making her smile. “See? It’s me. I’m not far away. I’m with you. So now, lay down, and…”

“Did you cut your hair?” she interrupts him again, her sweet smile fading.

“Yes. Yes, I cut my hair. Let me guess: I look funny, right?” he chuckles, and finally manages to continue wrapping up her ankle.  

“No! I loved your hair! Why did you cut your hair?” she begins to cry again. “Can you put it back? Please, David!”

“Gillian,” he sighs. He starts to wonder if adding up a sleeping pill to her painkiller would be okay. Probably not, but he’s not getting any younger, and he feels like having a whining baby on drugs around him. It’s ten times worse than the day they took mushrooms together and she insisted to get out of his trailer and wander in the forest at night. Naked, of course. He’s certainly not going to survive fifteen days with a high and incoherent Gillian. He needs to come up with a plan. “No, Gillian, I can’t put it back. But it’ll grow again soon, don’t worry.”

“When? Tomorrow?”

“Yes. What? No! Not tomorrow!” Her mouth distorts again, and she’s about to burst into tears. “Yes! Yes! Tomorrow! My hair will be back tomorrow. In one beddy-bye.”

Did he just say “beddy-bye” to the woman he loves? he wonders. Oh god! Okay, she needs to stop talking, and he needs to finish her bandage and let her sleep. She’ll probably feel better after a beddy… after a nap.

“Here.” he says as he holds his phone to her. “West showed me this app. It’s funny, you’re gonna like it. You take a picture of me, and you can change my haircut. Do you want to try it?”

She nods with a smile and finally falls silent for a few minutes, allowing him to finish her bandage properly. All he needed was to occupy her mind with something else. Now he’s going to make dinner while she sleeps a little bit, and after a few hours, she’ll be back to her old self and they’ll enjoy a calm and snuggly evening watching a silly British TV show. He wonders if they have Dancing With the Stars here too.

“I’m finished, clumsy beauty.” he says, proudly. “Did you find me a good haircut?”

“Yes, I like you in red, but people say you look better with blond hair.”

“People? What people?”

“People on Twitter.”

David was on the set of The fall?😳😳😳 when? Please tell me more 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I’ve learned that very recently too. Apparently, it was during the first season, and fans of Jamie Dornan tweeted about it, and they thought David would have a small part in it or something. Turned out he didn’t. That’s all I have, I wasn’t around here at the time, so it’s just what I’ve been told by several people. 

Maybe someone can confirm?

Hey I’m just curious. I’ve read that dd has visited the Hannibal set. That would be cool, we would assume it was to see Gillian, right? Is this true? If so, is there evidence or a reason to believe it? Thanks!

It’s a rumor floating around. It’s possible, we know Gillian visited the set of Californication, so he could have visited the set of Hannibal. He was also seen on the set of The Fall, this one was for sure, but about Hannibal, there’s no evidence. 

1/2 So nostalgicphile and myassbrokethefall say that D & G aren’t together. They agreed that any flirting won’t be natural it’ll be forced and for performance only. MABTF always said « no couple » and was long ago trying to remove D from G’s life and joke about it. Now 2moms says that it’s proof that G and D are done and over because she changed her handle and that Gillian and PM are a « total power couple ». She agreed with an anon that if D and G get together it would be a « toxic » relationship.

2/2 They are a disgusting group of people and now all we’re going to hear is how everything is a game, Gillian said so and everytime they do something, this group will try to make it nothing and say that it’s all for “performative reasons”. That’s the fave word of nostalgic and myassbroke. I’m SO SICK of that whole side and I’m SO SICK of what this fandom has become. There is only a few sane voices on our side and everyone else is already talking about “season 11 in a post-Gillovny world”.

Anon, take a deep breath and calm down. This is not all we’re going to hear unless if you chose it. That’s the beauty of Tumblr, you can chose what to read, who’s blog to read and who to follow. If their discourse doesn’t suit you, you can chose not to read them. You don’t have to and you don’t have to agree either. It’s not because they say it that it’s the Truth. Let them have their opinion and have yours and stick to it. It’s not less worthy than anyone else’s.

Can’t wait until we get closure for Mulder and Scully! But not looking forward to the interactions between G&D. Don’t u think it’s going to be so blatantly obviously forced when they flirt etc? I mean all I’m gonna hear in my head is Gillian’s words « it’s all a game » and that takes so much fun out of it!

Either you believe they’re a couple or not, GIllian and David’s interaction are never forced. Gillian words that will resonate in my head are that their chemistry is here, wether there are people watching them or not. Their interaction are never forced, it’s just the way they are. It’s bizarre, it can be inappropriate sometimes, but it’s always spontaneous and this is why it’s so beautiful to witness. 

And as I personally believe they’re together in real life, I don’t know why I would think it’s forced. No one is going to force them to act couply if they don’t want to. 

he watches her as she struggles with her crutches. she keeps cursing under her nose and it makes him chuckle, although he feels really sorry because he knows she’s in pain. « wash off that smirk » she makes a comment as she comes closer to him. « i hate those fucking things. they ain’t no help. » he puts her hair behind her ear and strokes her cheeks with his thumbs. « and it fucking hurts, you know? » « i know, babe » he whispers and kisses her forehead. the idea pops in his head. he smiles wickedly

“what?” gillian looks at him and frowns. “what are you doing?” he places his one arm under her thighs and the other one on her back and raises her. “duchovny, are you insane? put me down!” she screams. he just laughs and comes closer to the stage. “david, really. put me down, please.” “no” he says and comes on the stage carrying her in his arms. she couldn’t be more red because of the blush but also couldn’t be more in love with that man.
