Sorry but I disagree. Maybe Gillian didn’t know about the women writers but at least she spoke about it and it’s better than not saying anything. Women have to fight for their rights!

If Gillian wouldn’t have retweeted the article, it would have gone unnoticed, and called out later for their bullshit.
Yesterday, we would have discovered the two names of the two new directors of season 11. We would have been happy to have new writers. We would have gone checking their previous works, see their connections to the show, analyse their abilities to make great episodes and so on.

But what are we doing now? Celebrating the fact that two writers of the xfiles have pussies and not penises. Now fox is happy to use all of this as a PR strategy. That’s not what I call feminism.

Wait! Since when we believe in anything Anne Simmons says? Of course they doesn’t want people from inside twitting everything. And Carter wouldn’t allow it too. And I don’t think we need negativity linked to XF now for starting a hashtag fuck Fox. Let’s wait and see what we got. We probably will have a thousand of reasonable reasons to say that in the next months. Anne says a lot of crap and she knows nothing. We shouldn’t give her so much credit.

You’re right, we never can rely on her. The fact that the two guys who posted pictures of the set on IG had to remove them is quite concerning, though. I think they’re being cautious in the first days but will release some pressure and give everyone some space after a few days. There’s no set that can go 5 months without a leak anyway, so they’d better handle their communications themselves than force stalkers to cross boundaries. I’m fairly confident that we will get some tidbits in the next few days. Maybe today, who knows!

Aren’t you nervous that CC hired two female directors one month before they start filming because Gillian woke him up from his misogyny?

Absolutely not because I don’t believe for one second Gillian is responsible of the hiring of those two writers. They didn’t hire them because Gillian asked so. What kind of show and production would that be? It was planned, Fox just didn’t reveal all the writers beforehand, and instead of checking her facts, Gillian simply retweeted the one article stating without sources or proof that all the staff was composed with male writers, creating the smokescreen/drama we’ve all witnessed. 

So until I’ve seen the episodes, I’m going to believe these women were hired because of their competences and because CC and Fox trust them to create great episodes, and I’m just really happy we get fresh blood-ish, regardless their gender. 

I see so-called feminism discussions everywhere about those two female directors, and fans saying they don’t care if they’re women, men or any other gender called misogynist again and this is beyond ridiculous. When we will stop praising women just because they’re women, that’s when feminism will win. 

So what now? We really won’t have any picture until the show air in January? How could this be possibe?

First of all, we don’t know if the show will air in January. It’s not up to Anne Simon to announce the airing date and all we know so far is that it’ll air mid-season.

So now, we rely on stalkers and paparazzi and wait for the first outdoor location to get something juicy. Don’t worry, we won’t wait 5 months to have the first picture, it’s the beginning now, they’re being very cautious but I’m pretty sure everyone will be more chilled in a few days and things will leak eventually 🙂

So Anne says no tweeting by anyone. 1.)) I’m guessing we won’t have tweeting from David and Gillian beyond basic stuff, if anything at all. It will be a much different ride than last time. Fox was aware of all the social media stuff last time, I guess. 2.)) But also, it proves what D and G did before was never PR (this isn’t directed to you, but is a general comment). If it would have been PR, Fox would have demanded it again because it brought happy fans who were engaged and excited. +Ratings!

Actually, I think it was pretty much the same the last time. All the pictures we had during the time of the shooting were taken by fans or gawkers who were passing by, but I don’t remember anyone from the set or actors themselves tweeting anything while filming. So I think we just have to wait for them to film outside in a public location and pictures will leak for sure, as usual.
