Why did he write so many songs about that period in his life and surrounding one specific woman? I mean I know he had the kids with Tea but most will write one song or maybe two around something that specific and then move on and wxplore other things. It’s like his jokes, he just gets stuck and refuse to move on. How many times have you heard his Missus buttercup joke? That’s my point!

I don’t think we can compare endless jokes to 14 years of marriage. It’s never easy to just move on after living such a long time with someone. Writing songs was probably part of his healing process and it’s not up to us to judge that.
He has definitely moved on now, otherwise, I don’t think they’d be able to spend so much time together as friends, even for their kids. They have a beautiful relationship now, and I’m sure those songs helped him to move on, as you said.
Also, I’m never tired of those stories about the poop monster, the upset bees, and David randomly stumbling across the “Fire” episode on tv the night before he’s on a late show. I think it’s cute.
