Can I ask why you keep thinking that every song of David’s was written when he was splitting from Tea? It seems silly to think that David just stashed up 60 or so songs. I don’t have a problem with thinking most of the first album had Tea in mind with some exceptions. But this second album is recent and David would have composed these in recent time. So surely some were when he and Gillian were together. It’s kind of side-eye stuff when every romantic saying David says is stuck on to Tea.

It’s because he said he had written a lot of songs at that time, then decided to put some in Hell or Highwater, and that he would probably put some others on his next album. The only one we know was written recently is the one about the Sacred Heart. We don’t know anything about the other ones, yet.
