By your logic, if David says in an interview that he was deeply hurt and offended by the rumors of him dating his dear friend (var: daughter of a dear friend, assistant, personal trainer, etc), that would mean the rumors are true?

No. What I meant is that addressing the rumor will be taken as a confirmation even if it’s to deny it. Talking about it would draw attention to it, and he’ll can try to argue as much as he wants, everyone will accuse him to lie anyway. Especially in times like this, when there’s a new sexual scandal in Hollywood everyday.
Proof of that is the DailyMail. The article and their “source” precisely say David and Monique are not dating. Yet, everyone, including his fans took it as a confirmation of the rumor. You can’t go against the rumor once it’s out.
