I think you’re being an unfair bitch. And I say that with love. When the same happened to Gillian and she was seen in Portofino you said it would ruin her image (okay you were right) but now that the same happens to David, you blame this girl and you’re not saying anything about all the shit David’s getting on twitter. It is ruining his image too and it’s his fault too

I’m not an unfair bitch, anon. Life is. And standards apply differently to everyone because everyone is unique and carries their own background.

You want to compare? Okay, let’s compare. Gillian is supposed to be a role model. She took that so much seriously that wrote a book about being a role model. She inspired women, gay people, even scientists, and a lot of people rely on her for many different reasons. She’s a voice of many charities, she’s nice, funny, caring, loving. She has flaws and they make her this perfect but human goddess. That is Gillian’s image. I don’t think I have to explain why Portofino damaged it.

On the other side, you have David who’s image was ruined forever in 2008. We love him here because we know him, but outside, he’s just that guy who cheated on his wife so much that she put him in rehab for sex addiction once. Half of his fan base are guys who want to be Hank Moody and shout “motherfucker” when they see him in the street. He worked hard to break this image, but the damage was done years ago and sadly, it is still the image real people have of him and that because the press keep talking about him this way. No one, outside the fandom, will be surprised if this rumor turns out to be true.

David and Gillian are two very different animals and you can’t compare them all the time. They’re not tied up to each other. What’s worth for one isn’t necessarily worth for the other.
So of course, I wish David would be more cautious and better advised and would keep his distance from this girl, whoever she is for him because this isn’t doing him any good. But if we’re being fair, he didn’t do anything except taking a few meals and a walk in Vancouver before a concert while Gillian blew hot and cold for months with PM before Portofino, even showing up as his event with another date. David isn’t the one who spent years tweeting sexual innuendos and encouraging Gillovny fans to ship them hard. And right now, he isn’t the one playing the fandom with weird Instagram posts exposing someone else’s private life.

Take it as double standards if you want, but in my mind, I’m being perfectly fair. If he’s really dating her, I’m certainly not going to defend him, though. But right now, I don’t see any reason to throw him under the bus.
