It depends. Do you have 600 000 followers on Twitter, are you a famous celebrity, an icon for a whole generation, do people have your face on their phone and laptop backgrounds and do your partner’s work holiday happen twice a month 5000 miles away from where you work?
So I guess I should skip my partner’s work holiday party because doing so would be helping promote his company. I mean, I don’t work there so why would I support his company? I should be out there tweeting about how great my own job is the night of his holiday party. That’s obviously how relationships work.
