Yes, but first I don’t necessarily think of David as Mulder. I don’t love him only because he’s a great actor. I love him for who he is, because he smart, he’s deep and cultivated, because he’s funny. I love him because he’s unique and doesn’t fit into the image we can have of an almost 60 years old Hollywood actor. I love his personality and what he represents more than his acting or his singing. I love his sense of family, how he raises his children, the way he talks about them, and about his friends. He genuinely is a good person and that’s why I love him.
I would think a lot less of him if he turned out to just be an another middle-aged Hollywood cliché dating a too young girl, especially now and especially after all the shit that happened to him ten years ago. A LOT less. And I don’t want to. So I’ll always give him the benefit of the doubt. I just want to trust him for not being that.
