-The man is still only separated and in many ways he is opposed to everything Gillian has publicly tried to show. She has however changed her way of dealing with her social media but she also have said several times she can not date married men and she has written a feminist book … all the contrary to what he stands for? 
It does not make sense for me, but maybe love makes blind or she in this case makes an exception?

Still, there is so much that does not make sense to me at all!!! The two points I have pointed out are just really things I do not understand at all in any way…?

Many people say that relationships do not define who Gillian is, but I actually disagree. Of course she is herself, but the choices we make as people and those we are together with are part of ourselves. E.g. Social constructivists believe that it is through those we are with, we are constructing our identity. That it is constantly reconstructed according to the social conditions, communication with them closest to us and arenas we move into. So my sociological and psychological sense actually believes that relationships help determine who we are. What several branches of science theory also agree on.This is obviously her choice, but I think it affects the image I personally have of her …and in my ideal and perhaps naive world, David would be better in every way…
